Bluetooth Technology
Description of Technology
Bluetooth technology was invented in 1994 by a group of engineers at Ericsson, a Swedish owned company. The technology was actually named later on after a 10th century Danish King, King Harald Blatand. The name Blatand means blue tooth in English. Bluetooth technology was designed to eliminate the cables and cords. Bluetooth technology operates via radio transmissions in the ISM band at 2.4 to 2.485GHZ. Bluetooth uses a spread spectrum, frequency hopping, full duplex signal at 1600 hops per second. This 2.4 GHZ band is unlicensed and available in most countries.
Impacts of Bluetooth Technology 1. Bluetooth has made a tremendous impact on home security. Peep is a new Bluetooth peephole. This peephole will take a picture when someone knocks on the door and then sends it to your smartphone. BeOn Home is a smart lightbulb made to deter burglars but also will come on in the event of power outage or smoke alarm. This bulb also employs a Bluetooth mesh network to extend the range throughout the house. There is a smart deadbolt called, Danalock Smart Lock. This deadbolt can be operated from your smartphone and has a variety of design and control scheme options. 2. Probably one of the better and most important impacts of Bluetooth is in the automotive industry. With Bluetooth you can pair your phone to your car and go hands free on answering calls. Some of your autos allow you to sync your contacts and even text via speech. Bluetooth allows you to stream music into your car and even skip forward or backwards. Another part of Bluetooth in the automobile is you can download traffic data or mapping and even update your mapping. Bluetooth has not only made your ride more pleasurable but has made it safer for everyone around you by being able to go hands free on calls. 3. With the invention of the mart phone and now Bluetooth the medical field has been optimized. With Bluetooth you can keep track of your heart rate and body temperature while on the go via monitors and your smartphone. Bluetooth technology decreases the chance of infection by being wireless on your body monitors. Bluetooth is also responsible for less clinical errors and reduced cost of patient monitoring. With Bluetooth technology the stethoscopes send the information wirelessly to a PC. Glucose Monitors, Pulse Oximeters, and even scales are now Bluetooth. Thanks to Bluetooth your health can be monitored from your own home.
Prevention of Bluetooth Technology from advancing
In reviewing all the information on Bluetooth technology we find no reason for it not to advance. As a matter of fact we find nothing that would keep it from advancing. There are far too many benefits to wireless technology for it not to advance. Being wireless and transmitting by radio waves does leave you open for security risks. The thing about Bluetooth is that it’s short distance transmitted radio waves, therefore minimizing the risk.

New It Technologies

...New IT Technologies Technological advances have benefited human beings in many different in aspects of human life including personal, social, and organizational life. It is important to remember that organization is essentially groups of people working together towards achieving some common tasks. Thus, it is not possible to separate what is good of organizations from what is good for people and societies in general. In fact, development of need for organizations has arisen out of the technological developments. Organizations are needed primarily because of the practice of the concept of division of labor which is a very important principle used in all technological developments. Technology has also helped organizations to improve their internal management, further improving their effectiveness and profitability. Technology is perhaps the greatest agent of change in the modern world. Although never without risk, technological breakthroughs promise solutions to the most pressing global challenges of our time. Let us look at a few new emerging technologies. Cloud Computing Relatively new IT technologies include those that pertain to cloud computing. While the technology of cloud computing in and of itself is not necessarily a recent development, cloud users have been frequent since the greater part of the last decade; recent developments include the access to and usage of private clouds. One of the chief concerns with cloud computing was always that which pertained to...

Implementing New Technology

...Implementing New Technology: Success or Failure Taira D. McJimson University of Phoenix Implementing New Technology: Success or Failure In an effort to make this company more competitive within our industry I have decided to implement a few new technology solutions to improve our communication, productivity, accountability and profitability. Through several steps I will insure that all parties involved are comfortable with this pending change. Tech research, group discussion, IT feed-back, tech implementation, training, and support all play a part. Know your Tech The first part of implementing any new technology is to research the technology. Often times managers or other administrative members go out and purchase technology without a full understanding of its uses or what benefit it has for their particular organization, I will not fall into this trap as I will do all the research necessary to determine the best course of action. Several factors are needed to determine the tech needs and the products ability to meet those needs. Accessibility is important due to the fact that no technology is viable if the people who need it cannot access it. Having a laptop on your desk does you no good if you’re on the road (Salvatore). The ability for important information to be correctly sent and received depends on the accessibility of the technology. In this respect I will look for lightweight portable devices that will be easy to carry and provide the connections that we need....

Technology In Brave New World

...Technology is a powerful tool we can use to improve the way of life, but if used in the wrong way it can become a terrible thing. One example of this is the rigid control of reproduction through technological and medical intervention, including the removal of ovaries, the Bokanovsky Process, and the conditioning of children. Another example is the way people are designed to not feel or care about many things in their everyday lives. Soma is a third example of the kind of medical, biological, and psychological technologies that shape Brave New World. Technology is a very helpful and useful tool, but like any other power in the world, if used for the wrong reasons, it can become a dangerous thing. People in Brave new World took technology to...

Traditional Culture and New Technology

...science and technology in (over) the whole course of human history (in the course of human events). As far as I am concerned, the disappearance is inevitable but is not necessarily a nightmare because sometimes we have to abolish (shake off) the bad practice. Furthermore, it is beyond dispute that the new technologies confer countless benefits on human being (human, humankind, man, people, humanity) and lends the very impetus for society to move forward. In the first place, science and technology have been unraveling many mysteries which used to be interpreted as the curses lifted by god or some supernatural in the past. For instance, the thunder and lightning, believed to arise from the fury of God (divine), turn out to be plain natural phenomena. Despite a large number of detrimental superstitions still prevailed in some primitive tribes or remote (uncultured) region (area), it is desirable that they have almost vanished (waned, wear away, elapsed) within the modern community (which live up to our expectation). Secondly, scientific and technological inventions have made a huge (enormous, tremendous) leap forward in all aspects of our life (everyday lives, daily life). In particular, the computer as one of the most revolutionary innovation can serve to illustrate this point as it accelerate the processing and storing of information, thus tremendously boosting (raise, increase, put up) the efficiency of our manufacturing and the pace of our living(becoming the new driving force...

Technology In Brave New World Essay

...Throughout history, society has developed and grown through advances in technology. These have proved both advantageous and detrimental to society as a whole. Technology has helped connect the world and help make everybody happier. However, at what cost? When does technology cease to be beneficial and begin its destruction? Technology has led to the illusion of multitasking, the chronic and widespread abuse of prescription drugs, and the downfall of society as a whole through virtual realities. The article “Why the modern world is bad for your brain”, by Daniel J Levitin shines light on many of the societal norms in Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. “Multitasking has been found to increase the production of the stress hormone cortisol as well as the fight-or-flight hormone adrenaline, which can...

New Communication Technologies-Short Essays

...WEEK 1 1. New Communication Technologies - Posted: 27 FEB 2012 The phrase “New communication technologies” is a recently invented, developed scientific knowledge applied in our everyday life. They offer fresh and a new ways of communication, something different what was used by previous generations or perhaps just a few years earlier. These new communication technologies certainly influence and change the way we live and manage our communication, social and business activities. One of these new communication technologies is the so-called “smart-phones”, which are the combination of cellular phones and computer based technology. “The growing capabilities of handheld devices and transmission protocols have enabled a growing number of inventive and fanciful applications—for instance, augmented reality” (Hosch Encyclopaedia Britannica2012) They incorporate a whole list of features, example touchscreen (which is almost a standard application these days) internet browser, high resolution camera, capable to take High Definition Videos apart from HD still shots, navigator, Mp3 music player, document viewer, Bluetooth, USB, alarm clock, calculator, calendar. It brilliantly works with Wi-Fi and after all, it is also capable to make phone calls too. Reference: smartphone 2012. Encyclopædia Britannica Online. Jnj vs. Pzifer New Technology

...Johnson and Johnson vs. Pzifer (Technology) According to my research, Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) is the trend in health care that keeps growing. EBM experts compare available clinical evidence for various treatments that may be used in a disease, determine the best standard care (based on the comparison), and apply the “best” standard to care for patients. Evidence-Based Medicine aims for helping health care providers decide which patient should get which treatment, and under what circumstances. After this, the final decision of which treatment is best for an individual is based on the doctor and patient. The evidence that EBM looks at includes: how well the product/therapy works, how effective it is compared with alternative treatments, how safe it is, and how the therapy affects different people differently. It is also a way to keep patients and doctors informed about the potential risks and benefits of a treatment. Another approach is the Health Technology Assessment (HTA). Unlike EBM, HTA tries to determine the cost-effectiveness of the treatment. It looks at how cost-effective the treatment is when used in a large diversified group of people who are covered by a healthy system. It does not address whether the treatment is cost-effective for an individual. Some government-financed health care systems require cost-effectiveness assessments, in addition to regular approval (before a product is made to patients). The disadvantage for the patients is that...

New Media Technology

...the Internet and World Wide Web. According to McLuhan modern communication technologies such as radio and television globalize communication by allowing users from all levels of society around the world to easily connect with each other and exchange ideas instantaneously. We are to a large extent dependent on regular contact with the new media for information, entertainment ,ideas ,opinions and many other things all of which are connected to our attempt to make sense of who and what we are. The growth in the technology sector is so high that it has made us addicted to it and does not let us function without its presence in our lives. As “McLuhan said that technologies are the extensions of the human body” hence the recent new media technology to be discussed here would be the Internet. Most people, when asked to describe new media, refer almost instantly to the Internet (Lohr, 2003). Internet has made the world a very small and close place to live in where one can be updated with all the major happenings around the world in fraction of seconds. Internet provides us with lot of information on one particular topic and also saves time. No matter what the age or the circumstance would be it is very necessary for people to communicate with each other. Communication is a prerequisite for each activity. However, when considering newer automated communication systems, the factor of access to new media becomes very important. Recent work demonstrates that today’s generation...
