Wac Report on New Year's Eve Crisis

...first place was because almost half of revenues was chain accounted form 200 restaurants. On the Monday morning of New Year’s Eve Mike receives a call from Ted Brewer, VP (Administration and Operations) stating that Fred Jones, Southern quality assurance manager wants to talk to him. “The seafood-stuffed pasta shells that Southern had just shipped to its biggest customer were tainted with salmonella” Fred said. Mike was horrified as it was the New Year’s Eve, biggest night in the year for restaurants. The two challenges against him was that either, “This major regulatory incident could permanently shut him down” or “ He can wave good-bye to 50% of the revenue stream that he just bought 3 weeks ago”. Thereafter, Mike sets up a conference call with his management team which includes Dan, Ted & Mark. They were discussing that what would be their defense against such a tragic incident. The pressure from FDA, customers, media etc would be too worst to handle. After discussion, there were two options. One option would be to trust the chain’s cooking standards. Another option would be to contact the chain and have them notify all restaurants, to make sure that the cooking temperature was high enough. By now, it was late afternoon and Mike had to figure out what to do as the restaurants would soon be starting to serve their patrons, happily celebrating New Year’s Eve. 1 Issues and Challenges On hearing that the delivery of salmonella contaminated pasta to...

News Report

...1.0 REPORT 1 NEWS REPORT Published: Wednesday January 27, 2010 MYT 9:21:00 AM Ozone hole healing could cause climate warming WASHINGTON: Scientists at the University of Leeds found that although the hole in the ozone layer is steadily closing, the repair could actually increase warming in the southern hemisphere, reported Xinhua news agency. The findings which appeared in Wednesday’s US journal Geophysical Research Letters, added that the discovery of a previously undiscovered feedback shows that the Antarctic ozone hold has helped to shield this region from carbon-induced warming over the past two decades. The Antarctic ozone hole was once regarded as one of the biggest environmental threats. Citing Professor Ken Carslaw of the University of Leeds who co-authored the research, Xinhua reported that high-speed winds in the area beneath the hole have led to the formation of brighter summertime clouds, which reflect more of the sun’s powerful rays. “These clouds have acted like a mirror to the sun’s rays, reflecting the sun’s heat away from the surface to the extent that warming from rising carbon emissions has effectively been cancelled out in this region during the summertime,” said Carslaw. He added that: “If, as seems likely, these winds die down, rising CO2 (carbon dioxide) emissions could then cause the warming of the southern hemisphere to accelerate, which would have an impact on future climate predictions.” The Leeds team made their prediction using a state-of-the-art...

...Running Head: NEW ZEALAND ECONOMIC ANALYSIS REPORT New Zealand Economic Analysis Report Heather McKellips Grand Canyon University ECN 600 November 26, 2010 Abstract New Zealand is a small group of islands that is located to the southeast of Australia. It has a total land area of about 103,733 square miles, making it about the same size as the state of Colorado, USA. Although it has a small size, New Zealand is a thriving country. Their main exports include wool, forestry products, meat, dairy, fruit and nuts and fish. They have a thriving tourism business with more than 1.5 million visitors in 1999. Despite its small size and having to compete with more productive and more powerful nations, where does New Zealand’s economic being lie? This report will detail the economic stability of this country. Resting just southeast of Australia, New Zealand has some major competition with the production and exportation of their goods. They are also very reliant on foreign imports. Because of the major country of Australia just to their north, they also lose many members of their population to immigration. But on a whole, how does their economy hold up in comparison to the rest of the world? New Zealand is a power parity and has a gross domestic product (GDP) of $63.8 billion. The Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) has shown a steady increase in the GDP of New Zealand since 2004. However they still fall below the OECD average. Hamlet News Report

...EXTRA EXTRA! Prince Hamlet Fakes Insanity! HRH Prince Hamlet has faked insanity since the untimely passing of his father, the King of Denmark. Whilst everyone in the kingdom just thinks that Hamlet has simply gone mad, our sources reveal that this was merely just a ruse. Doting Polonius quite concerned of Hamlet and the discovery of the root to the madness states: ‘Madam, I swear I use no art at all. That he is mad, tis true: tis true tis pity; And pity tis true: a foolish figure; But farewell it, for I will use no art. Mad let us grant him then: and now remains that we find out the cause of this effect; Or rather say, the cause of this defect, For this effect defective comes by cause: Thus it remains, and the remainder thus.” (Act 2 Scene 2 Line 44) When our affiliates tried to reach out to Hamlet, he was quite hesitant to explain to himself but he hinted at he firmly suspects that Claudius is the main reason of his father’s tragic death. Our analysts have deducted that this adds up to the overall battle/conflict to this situation. It is quite vivid that Prince Hamlet is simply trying disarray others with his wild charade. By playing this strategically, this will allow him to attack Claudius when least expected and expose to the land that he is guilty for the murder of the late King of Denmark. Cloning News Report

...Cloning humans? No longer a dream. Madness in the major hospital of New York because of a very special birth. From the beginning of the Industrial Revolution to the first man on the moon nothing seemed impossible for humans. There seemed to be no limits. However, once the greatest of scientists had failed a large number of experiments, we had started to believe that we would never be able to clone humans. Now finally after many years of hard work and struggling, a baby boy was born today. His name is David Jonas and he is the first ever cloned human. The streets in front of the New York hospital are crowded with people shouting, singing and dancing. One whole avenue and 7 streets have been blocked from traffic coming in. The hospital is surrounded by police officers blocking any entrance. Dr Zavos had asked us, BBC, to join him inside just minutes after the boy was born. He had been allowed to attend to whole process of giving birth by a woman named Sarah. She had been appointed as the first woman to ever carry a cloned human due to her excellent health conditions and life style. We unfortunately weren't allowed in the room but we were told that she went through labour without much trouble or pain and she is in a stable situation. “Finally we can start moving on in the world. The numbers of infertility have increased enormously over the last 20 years. We were starting to run out of solutions and people were losing hope. This is one of the biggest advancements in technology...

WALB News Report

...We are going to be on the WALB News! I feel ecstatic right now. Even though only Albany will see, I feel like a movie star. Mrs.Holmes, our teacher, has been voted Teacher of the Year in Albany; however we have to make a photo album of ourselves. We will take the pictures of us having fun at our school (Robert A. Cross Middle School) and then immediately send them to the WALB News Station. The reason we have to take the pictures all in one day is because that is when Mrs.Holmes gets a new camera in order to get clear bright pictures. The camera she has now does not even work half of the time, so we all donated a little money to her for a high quality camera. Everybody is saying that the news reporters might even take a class picture tomorrow!...

Nicene News Report

...The First Council of Nicaea, the first ecumenical (worldwide) council held by the church, is best known for its creation of the Nicene Creed, the earliest assertive statement of Christian orthodoxy. The council was convened in 325 by the Roman Emperor Constantine I in an attempt to settle the controversy which was raised by Arianism over the nature of the Trinity. It is important to note that Constantine had converted to Christianity and had “called the council together because he clearly had hoped for Christian support in holding his fragile empire together.”1 Held in Nicaea (which is now modern day Turkey), over 300 bishops and non-episcopal Christian thinkers were brought together for the event.2 The council’s major controversy was about determining whether Christ was both human and divine. “The crucial debate centered on the statement that the Son was “of the same substance” (homoousios) with the Father.”3 The predominant idea of Arianism is the unique and superior nature of the singular divine being. At the center of the controversy was a presbyter in Alexandria named Arius. His belief (centered around Proverbs 8:22 which states The Lord brought me forth as the first of his works, before his deeds of old.) was that the Son was not of the same essence as the Father, that the Son was created by the Father. From this line of thought, he argued that there would be more than one God. Therefore, the Son must be deemed a creature that has been given life from nothing and has had...

...The manhunt lasted for a little over a week and authorities had no idea where he was or what his next move could have been. Somehow, they caught up with him finally and it all ended with a cabin on fire and Dorner allegedly dead. ABC 7 was not subjective, they reported the information they had, and the reporters did not seem to make subjective comments in the first report. Some information I found odd to be reported was the preschool Dorner attended. Has the reports continued, it started to seem like all the stations were being subjective in their reports. Fox 11 news was the most subjective; the reporters shared how terrible they thought the events were and hoped for Dorner’s capture. In both stations the information that was omitted or never spoken of in detail was how good of a person everyone knew Christopher Dorner as. There were people who wanted to share their experiences with him and who have known him for years and never thought of him as a killer, but apparently none of that mattered at this point. NBC 4 was the most objective, there were no opinions, and they reported the information they had. All news stations seemed to omit any good information on the suspect, but at that point they were being subjective, including their thoughts about how the...

The easiest issue to resolve is to decide if the crew should still be awarded the prizes. Should the crew still earn the rewards or should the entire right be punished because of one person. The next issue would be to determine why Joe did not report his injury. The management needs to decide if the crew is being bullied into not reporting accident’s to make the rig’s accident stat appear better than what it actually is or did Joe not report the incident out of ignorance? Is there any possibility that...
