Title: Electricity Generating Mat with status indicator using parallel thermoelectric generator as an energy source for USB-based devices

Group Members: Dela Paz, Omar S. Bocalbos, John Paul P. Sobria, Jansen Peter L. Sy, Jan Nicole E.

Abstract: The Electricity Generating Mat is a Mat-like device that is used to convert wasted heat using Thermoelectric Generator and stored it in a battery to be used to charge USB-based devices. The researchers come up with the study from the previous project the electricity generating ironing board using thermoelectric generator where in an ironing board has thermoelectric generators implanted on the bottom of the ironing board to be used to convert the heat coming out of the flat iron and is used to store it also in a battery and charge 4 docks. In innovating the project the researchers have come about making the device to be portable so it will not be limited only on the flat iron but also appliances or other things that is producing wasted heat. According to the harvester or the Thermoelectric generator (TEG), in order for it to harvest electricity is to balance the heat side and the cold side of the TEG so for our project there is a tube for the cold side of the TEG to put in ice or cold water to balance the temperature that the TEG needed. The project has two parts the converter and the storage. The converter consists of TEG and a dock to be connected to the other part which is the storage. The storage is consisting of a battery, power bank and docks where people can charge USB devices. A power bank was used to store the harvested electricity. The device is portable because after storing the electricity from the converter device, users may bring the storage device anywhere and used it as a power bank. The output voltage of the device is 5V.

(Robbins & Coutire, 2000) Servant Leadership is different because it develops employees to bring out the best in them; these leaders facilitate personal growth amongst their employees. Their focus is to meet the needs of those they are working with. These leaders listen to their employees and find a solution to their needs and build a sense of community amongst everyone. “Greenleaf envisioned a servant leader as one who facilitates achievement of a shared vision via the personal development and empowerment of followers. ...for choosing Smarthinking's OWL; best wishes with revising your paper! *Strengths of the essay: Hello Nicole! My name is Kevin S, and I will be your e-structor for your submission on Literacy Behind Bars. Good job in providing a thesis statement for your paper. The main point of Malcolm X essay is he became knowledgeable, about his ignorance due to (1) imprisonment in Charlestown Prison, (2) his mental awakening from words, (3) freedom from self. This helps guide the readers in how you would go about in your discussion. Nicely done! Now, I have a few suggestions on your content, organization, and grammar to help further improve on your summary and response paper. Let’s get started!  *NICOLE 7271586 has requested that you respond to the Content Development: You might want to elaborate on some of your points a bit more for the readers to understand them much better. Let’s have a look at your point here on his imprisonment for example: Malcolm X was sent to Charlestown Prison, which I think was the best thing to happen to him. Normally prison is the end result, yet this was the beginning for Malcolm X; it changed the course of his life. All of mankind is destined to change at some point in time, then if we could just find that “something”, whether it be envy, motivation, ignorance, a conversation, something to hit them like a train to awaken their spirit. Nicole, do remember that this is a summary and response paper. Therefore, be sure to add your response/reaction...

Db1-Nicole Elkins

...Hello everyone! My name is Nicole Elkins, but I usually go by Nikki. I went to college for a semester after high school but started to invest my time in other things. I’m now pursuing my degree in Special Education and really looking forward to getting back on track. Currently, I am a nanny for 3 kids, ages 13,10 and 6. I was born and raised in Northeast Ohio. I recently moved to North Carolina to become more spiritually invested (and to be closer to the beach). During my free time I love to travel and help others. Last summer our church took a construction team to El Salvador where my life was forever changed. Over the last five years I have been trying to decide what I wanted to do with my life and it wasn’t until I started faithfully attending church and devoting my life to God that I finally realized what direction he was leading me in. After reading the Liberty University mission statement I feel that their goals closely align with my personal educational goals. Being that I was recently baptized I understand this a crucial and fragile time in my life and that I need to surround myself with those who encourage Christian faith. “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have” {1 Peter 3:15}. By having a liberal arts program with a Christian focus students are able to become well-rounded in their knowledge and be prepared to complete any task from different angles. Not only can they communicate on an intellectual...

Young Love vs Chanel

...Melissa Butler Dr. Mark Howell English 112 2/28/2016 Young Love vs Chanel No. 5 In today’s world we see advertisements such as billboards, benches or commercials on TV and almost everywhere else we go. Our society is constantly influenced by advertising. While enthusiastic people work hard to create their masterpiece of a commercial, most people try to avoid them due to the inconvenience of them interrupting their favorite TV show. Today they have become a part of our life and the competition to produce an effective commercial is always booming. A reason for the widening of advertising is certainly the stressful expectation to produce a unique representation of a product that stands out in the market, as well as selling the product itself. TV commercials are used to attract the audience and the producers spend a lot of money and time to obtain the attention of the viewer. The most glamorous commercials I feel are certainly those of perfumes. That is why I chose to do this paper on two perfume TV commercials and examine the features that are used to produce an effective advertisement. One will be a TV commercial of 1962 that deals with the perfume “Young Love” while the other represents the “Chanel No.5 “production of 2006. These are chosen to point out the difference with regard to the use of visuals and text that are important for the development of a commercial. A TV commercial usually consists of text, visuals and sometimes incorporates music. All these features seem...

Like just last week we had someone break into the shop, and then a couple days ago someone kept calling the store at night, also it was a Friday and no one was in the office which scared me a little. But be sides all that , Anne and I have gotten a lot closer and if we are to get out of this place I would like to spend more time with Anne. She has changed a lot since I first met her I like the new Anne better .She much more quiet and soft spoken but I do find her company very enjoyable. I really enjoy spending time her. Everyone has been getting along better ever since the whole thing with my dad when we found out he was stealing bread from everyone and Mrs. Frank wanted to kick my mom and dad out and let me stay. I didn’t feel right so if she did kick them out I would have felt obligated to go with them. However after we found out about the invasion in Normandy, everyone hopes we may get out of here. I couldn’t help myself so, I just started singing and dancing with Anne and Margot. But I still have some feeling that something is going on with the phone call and no one being in work on a Friday I don’t know what’s going on. Sincerely, Peter Van...

Genderrep in Media Pussycatdolls- Buttons

...Pussycat Dolls “BUTTONS” -Music Writing Task With over 82 million views just from YouTube, the music video “Buttons” has definitely influenced the viewers unknowingly. It was unsurprisingly easy to find a video to discuss about gender and even throughout the video none of the actions or contents surprised me. Why? The Pussycat Dolls are being portrayed as sex objects. (I am straightforward, I know) This was distinctively shown through their actions and costumes throughout the video. The movements in the music video are extremely provocative to the man and perhaps quite daring as well. (See source 1 and 2) The costumes expose the majority of the body parts creating the sense of seductiveness, but whatsoever could still find a way to strip more off, which I found was quite impressive. (Clearly, that was sarcasm) (See source 3). Not only were they presented physically as sex objects but it can be proved via the lyrics of the video (see source 7). This suggests that the audience should look at the video from another light. “This could be yours” suggests that they are doing this on their own decision and is as if willing to advertise their body is an object to give out. There is a clear division of sexism throughout the music video. The fact that there is only a man throughout the video suggests that he is the centre of attention and has women surrounding which is typically what all men wish for. Women are being presented as if they thirst for sex simply through the choice...

Marie Nicole Thompson Case

...Problem The problem in this case is that Marie did not acquire Jane’s inherited referent power, which is triggering conflict among colleagues resulting in negative side effects. ● The two senior secretaries developed and shared similar values, accepting Marie’s work ethic and job responsibilities was a struggle for them and is leading to strained relationships. ● Jane’s influence was so strong that after a few weeks they actually had an exorcism. Due to Jane being held to such high esteem, Marie’s stature and position are constantly under fire. ● The staff thinks Marie should stay in reading and writing all day instead of attending meetings because that was more in line with Jane’s role. Therefore, conflict surrounding how Marie is spending her time is occurring. ● When Marie wanted to correct an ethical mistake regarding her schooling that Chuck had dictated, because of Theresa’s personal perceptions she became very upset and saw it as burning a bridge. ● Maria unfairly complained to Chuck about Marie because there was a jurisdictional dispute between the two of them about missing a deadline. Solution The solution to the problem we have identified is to eliminate the negative impacts of conflict between Marie and colleagues by restructuring interdependence by clarifying existing relationships. ● By communicating openly about Marie’s position and expectations, a difference between Jane and Marie’s positions can be established and understood by the entire workforce...

Why Is Oj Simpson Guilty

...O.J. Simpson is guilty of killing his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman. There is an enormous amount of evidence that proves that he did. He had a motive, but not a solid alibi. There are lab results dealing with blood, DNA, and fibers that place him at the scene of the murders. If that is not enough to prove him guilty, then there are also the witnesses that can place O.J. Simpson going in and out of the Rockingham estate on the day and around the time of the murders. Others have testified of threatening remarks they heard O.J. Simpson say against Nicole and police reports of violent actions he committed against her. Evidence proves that O.J. Simpson is guilty of killing Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman. O. J. Simpson had motive for killing Nicole Brown Simpson. He and his wife were having severe marital problems. There is proof of how bad their relationship was. She had her sister take pictures of her bruised body and lock them in a safe for future evidence if needed. Personally when I hear about this issue I think of my younger sister who is seventeen, and honestly in this situation I believe it would be great concept to only allow legal adults to have access to picture messaging. I found this article online from USA Today and my reasoning for choosing an online article is online sources have a wide variety of issues are available and the articles are to the point. My next topic in American Pop Culture is the death of former playmate Anna Nicole Smith. Because of her abusive drug habits begging in 2004 and ending in the year 2007 the year she died from an overdose, but how Anna Nicole Smith was supplied the drugs is another story in itself. Case of O.J Simpson

...Case Study: O.J Simpson Jamie Berthelette Psy/410 May 14, 2012 Lara Ashbaugh Abstract This paper will mention Orenthal James Simpson also known as O.J Simpson. He was a very famous football player since college and went onto the pros. He was a dedicated athlete, good father, and also a husband not once, but twice. There will be highlights from the horrific event that took place June 12, 1994. It is believed that O.J Simpson suffered from Borderline Personality Disorder. Another issue that I feel O.J Simpson suffered from is Love Triangle Syndrome which explains why he acted, behaved at all times, and the way he was with Nicole Brown Simpson. O.J Simpson was born July 9, 1947 to Eunice whom she raised him and his three siblings alone after their father ran off on them. His father Jimmy Simpson, being dysfunctional and leaving them which in part can explain so much on how O.J would act “macho” around everyone. He was awkward growing up with having to wear braces on his legs so most of the time he got picked on. He had to wear the braces until age five due to a diagnosed case of rickets and children would call him “waterhead” or “headquarters”. When O.J went to junior high he joined a gang called the Persian Warriors at age 14 and got caught stealing from a liquor store in the neighborhood. His mother ended up having him attend a private Catholic school which in turn put him back on a path towards positive things and better occupied him. O.J Simpson went to...
