...Daniel Colbetzor Professor Anne R. Maltempi College Composition 2 April 2012 Hobbies By: Daniel Colbetzor I am the youngest of a two job working, single parent of six kids. So to say I did not “see” my mom a whole lot, is an understatement. My brothers, (which there are four of them) and my sister kept an eye on me and had a hand in raising me. My sister pretty much did all the work with the feeding and clothes and stuff. But my brothers would be there if I got in trouble at school or missed my curfew. Everyone in my family had different tastes of music. I’m going to show you why I can say I have an eclectic taste of music. Like I mentioned before, my mom worked 2 jobs to support us. And to be honest, I don’t remember going without. But there were those Sundays mom would have off. It was like a double edge sword. We were happy she got a day off and we get to see her. But, we also knew that meant we were going to be cleaning the house all day! She would wake us up and make a most excellent breakfast (Bill and Ted reference). Then we would let our stomachs rest while we sat at the dining room table telling her all she that have happened. Then it was cleaning time. My mom was a hardcore classic country fan. To this day, George Jones’ “He stopped loving her today” sparks up memories and the smell of Pine-Sol. George Jones, Conway Twitty, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, were blasting from our stereo...

...once does Eighner antagonize dumpster diving, nor does he suggest his audience should pity for the homeless. Never does Eighner offend or degrade dumpster diving, nor does he wish pity upon the homeless — as a matter of fact, he correlates what he’s learned as a dumpster diver to the attitudes of “the very wealthy.” What he’s learned while scavenging left him to his one-of-a-kind attitude towards wealth. To interpret this belief, Eighner begins by explaining that his “desire to grab for the gaudy bauble has been sated.” By definition, “the gaudy bauble” refers to glamorous things; making it reasonable to deduce that Eighner’s “desire” for flashy materials has been satisfied by the lessons he’s learned as a dumpster diver. He reaches the nitty-gritty of his perspective towards wealth by stating “we [him and the wealthy] both know there is plenty more where what we have came from. Eighner has come...

...setting in place a turn of events that would lead to the eventual victory of the colonies. The boost to morale was so great that it helped many soldiers reaffirm their faith in Washington, and inspired many colonists to enlist. We then close off the book with the signing of the Declaration of Independence, a document to be the first of its kind, and later set the stage for many other countries fights for independence. I found this section to be very emotionally inspiring. We’re led on a rollercoaster of emotions, from a desire of freedom to an intense feeling of hopelessness, and then to a great sense of victory and triumph. I was quite surprised by this book. Much of it focused much less on the politics of what made America, but more of the nitty gritty bloody fighting that made America what it is today. I was very curious as to why this was the main topic of the book. I mean the title of the book “1776” is the year when we signed the Declaration of Independence, so why didn’t we focus more on the politics of the war? I think it’s because McCullough wants us to understand how overglorified the American victories were. America came so close to losing many times, but pulled through. He finishes off the book with the quote “The war was a longer, far more arduous, and more painful struggle than later generations would understand or sufficiently appreciate.”. Overall, I think he wanted people to understand it wasn't always so easy, that America didn’t always win. He wanted us to look and...

...Also known as point of view, perspective can be shaped by distance and relation to the actual event and the character or narrators own feelings towards the scene at hand or their state of mind leading up to the event. Ultimately, perspective can either help and hide the telling of the story. For example, if the narrator's personal feelings overshadow the scene, it can take away from portraying what is really going on. The thing that i am happy about this writing piece is that i wrote from a thirdpeson narration succesfuly . find "fixing" the plot and getting it together quite hard. I strive for a well-rounded and believable story, so I guess that's why! I plan to overcome it by focusing on the planning, the character devlopment, the real "nitty gritty" rather than the creative writing. Overall i like what i have written. Everyone has different perspecitves, and it's important to realize that because you need to respect that other people see things differently in today’s society. The reason i chose the theme karma was becuase it’s a theroy to me that states What goes around, comes around. Do good, good things should come to you. (sooner or later, not necessarily...

...Inside F. Scott Fitzgerald "Babylon Revisited" on man confronts types of innovation and naturalism. Innovation is a development dated from approximately 1900-1950. To put it plainly, innovation is about changes–changes in the public arena and changes in artistic frame. Innovator writing speaks to the change a conventional society encounters as it winds up noticeably present day, a change that might be difficult. In this era, Americans saw the overwhelming impacts of World War I, Black Friday and the resulting securities exchange crash, the Great Depression, and World War II, and many individuals were frustrated. ...Steve Ingwer ET2560 Phil Keck Friday Evenings WHY C IS STILL USED The main thing that my research has uncovered is the performance and reliability Of C programming. Many have also spoken of the ease of use that C provides, Which as of yet I have not found to be true but I am still learning and these people were all experienced users. They have also brought to point the great insight into programming that C offers and the ability it affords you to learn another language. ( A computer language) C also gives the user a feeling of empowerment and control being that close to the “Bare Metal” of the programming process. Many programs written today are C derivitives such as Java ( considered a cousin to C). C is still widely used and can be used in standalone executables. It also compiles for every platform and every processor architecture. A major reason why C is still in use is the fact that they keep extending and rewriting C so it stays fresh and up to date. There is also a lot of existing software that is C and C++ and converting it to another programming method would be costly and take a great effort. C also starts from scratch and has foundational concepts that today’s concepts stand on. Major parts of Windows, Unix and Linux are still written in C. In order to understand some of today’s other computer languages, Such as the afore mentioned cousin to C, Java, one must first learn C in order to learn the other languages more easily. Many of today’s Device...

...The key five principal processes associated with Project Management are as below: 1. The Project Initiation: During the starting procedure you are making the reports which are expected to characterize another task, or another period of a current venture. ...Communication Men and women have always had problems communicating. These problems have been the cause of many downfalls in relationships and the divorce in marriages. According to Deborah Tannen there are vast differences between men’s and women’s communication. Some of these differences range from how we talk to one another to how we listen to one another. I do believe that Tannen’s assertions on communication difficulty between me and women are valid. I realized that back in elementary school all the girls got the most attention out of the whole class. The teachers would always pick on the girls for many of the fun activities to do. I guess because the girls always looked like they pay attention and gave the teachers their full attention while the teachers thought they are struggling to get the boys attention when really we were paying attention. Tannen says that many women think that men do not give them their full attention when they are looking away or doing something when actually men do pay attention because that is how we listen. So when the teacher would always scream out “Pay Attention!” when we are not looking in their direction or doing something at our desk, the teachers want the direct eye to eye attention that the girls give them. So realizing now why the teachers always favored the girls because of the eye to eye they give that the boys usually don’t helps validate Tannen’s assertions. In the work place communication is the key to how successful a business...

In the event that my manager requesting that I build up an arrangement that enables perusers to completely modify their online daily paper and have sound/video content naturally sent to their cell phones, I would start building up a system with an essential concentrate on advancement. In my brain, to improve is to roll out improvements to something that as of now exists by making and introducing new items/thoughts. Along these lines, that is the thing that would need to occur. My objective is roll out improvements to peruser's present online daily paper and present them with new thoughts and components. I would begin by leading nitty gritty research as key arranging depends on what data is accessible and how it is deciphered (Ferrell and Hartline, 2014, p. 16). Amid this examination, I would search for data concerning contending organizations. By acquiring this data I would have the capacity to decide the shortcomings of my rivals. This would enable me to work towards upper hands which are things that an organization shows improvement over alternate organizations it contends with (p. 16)....
