No Late Work Accepted Policy
‘No Late Work Accepted Policy’ is a plan of action adopted by an institution or an individual in order to make firm the manner in which individuals manage their roles (Jha 22). The major aim of the policy is to ensure that individuals complete a task assigned within a given deadline. The policy has many merits. Primarily, it ensures that an individual keeps time. Thus, time management forms an essential ingredient of the No Late Work Accepted Policy and is particularly crucial in managing an individual’s career, and the improving an individual’s life (Jha 24). The No Late Work Accepted Policy seeks to ensure that individuals remain focused on an assigned role.
The primary intention of the No Late Work Accepted Policy is to prohibit individuals from misusing the leniency previously accorded to submission of assigned tasks. Many people treat late tasks as an exceptional occurrence, as a result, many people have developed the habit of procrastination until the assigned task is overdue and the consequences may relate to penalties and minor sufferings (Tagg 8). The policy is beneficial as it exerts pressure on individual to adhere to the deadlines provided. On the other hand, the policy acts as an effective measure to prohibit lateness in submitting tasks simply by prohibiting late tasks (Tagg 11). A Loose No Late Work Policy may encourage individuals to disregard the deadline provided on a given task. Therefore, The No Late Work Accepted Policy is fundamental because it imposes hard deadline on individuals and ensures that they are appropriately prepared for real life. The importance of the policy relies on its application; hence, no one would tolerate being late on turning a task. Thus, the policy encourages individuals to take the responsibility of turning in their tasks ahead of time (Tagg 9). In my opinion, individuals should recognize that a choice made has a consequence that may directly affect the outcome of any assigned task. Thus, it is necessary to have the policy to impose penalties to push individuals to perform their tasks in time. In the business arena, there are penalties that are highly rigid and require the implementation of the policy to enable individuals to work with such rigidity to meet the deadlines. It is true that there is no policy that is perfect but the penalties that may follow may make individuals realize the consequences of missing the deadline; thus, they may not repeat it again. The policy is also beneficial to individuals because it enables individuals to manage their shifting expectations. Thus, the policy encourages individuals to meet deadlines that are particularly crucial in saving money, costs, as well as time in organizations. The advantages of meeting deadlines have far-reaching implications in organizations because it enables leaders to evaluate the implications of submitting late tasks on the profitability of an organization. These evaluations are highly critical in a panoramic view of organizations processes. Thus, the no late work accepted policy provides leaders with an opportunity to determine the importance of meeting deadlines (Tagg 15).
There are situations that the policy may not be applicable; for instance, when an individual is sick or otherwise encounter external circumstances that may lead to lateness. Furthermore, an individual may experience an uncontrollable circumstance hence may require instructors to be lenient. In addition, the policy may be unnecessary to individuals who may otherwise be upholding integrity regarding their roles (Tagg 20). For instance, if a student holds integrity regarding academic work but fails to meet the deadline, he or she may suffer poor grades disproportionately. Therefore, the policy will lose its meaning since the grades will not reflect the student’s academic achievement. Hence, in such a situation, the policy will not be appropriate to support its purpose. However, while the No Late Work Accepted Policy can add focus; it may also contribute to pressure when the deadline provided is too tight or when there are conditions that may add pressure to individuals (Ndon 12). Therefore, it is it is justifiable to give an individual a second chance. For instance, an individual may be given an assignment fewer days than the required time to complete the task. In such conditions, the no late work accepted policy may cause individuals to execute their tasks under stress; hence increases the potential for error. Thus, when this happens, individuals may rush, in order to, meet the tight deadlines and miss some crucial details in their assignments, or may device other means such as plagiarism to finish on time. In addition, the policy may lead to conflicts when an individual works under tight pressure or stress to meet the deadline. The conflict may be associated with an increase in the stress level and this may cause suffering, since the conflicts may make an individual have a poor perception, as well as, the instructor (Ndon 1).
In conclusion, The No Late Work Accepted Policy ensures that individuals are relieved of anxiety and workload that may be encountered when working on a late assignment. Thus, it ensures that individuals stay on track whether there is limited or plenty of time, and understanding that the assigned tasks needs to be executed on time to motivate those who may lag behind. In addition, the policy ensures that a project can be more manageable when scheduled on segments. Thus, large projects that seem insurmountable can be finished in deadline and make team members have a feeling that they are accomplishing their tasks (Tagg 17). Thus, the No Late Work Accepted Policy should be encouraged because its main aim is to prevent individuals from abusing the advantage of leniency and the ability to submit tasks in time. The implementation of the policy has been remarkably successful in many organizations, even though, it has also led into some serious issues. To avoid the mistakes, it is necessary to work extra hours or prioritize the work assigned accordingly.
