...A Dallas businessman Peter Steward was the first to visualize that in the heart of downtown Dallas there should be a place for people to worship and thanksgiving to our community, nation and the world. At the same time, a central gathering or a meditation space for office crowd to relax or to relieve the stress from work. The non-profit Thanks-Giving Foundation commissioned the postmodern architect Philip Johnson to design the Square and was finished in 1976. The Thanksgiving Square is designed in a triangle shape landscape that is surrounded by trees, grass and manmade waterfall. The site is in between the Pacific, Ervay, and Bryan Streets. The main entrance of the Square is on the Pacific Avenue. On the right hand side of the entrance there is a Wall of Praise with Rockwell Mosaic that illustrates “The Golden Rule.” After visit the Wall of Praise there is a Ring of Thanks that is made of aluminum and covered by gold allow the visitor to pass through and speak their thanks out loud they will hear the echo back. Behind the Ring there is a Thanks Bell Tower with three large bronze bells, and it rings every hour. After visiting the entrance, there is a long pathway leading to the Chapel. The pathway was designed in a slope below street level surrounded by aqueducts. About half way down the pathway on the right hand side there are stairs leading to the Wall of Presidents that made of concrete. The Wall is surrounded by trees and a waterfall wall. ...Thank you for smoking „Thank You for Smoking“ is a political satire film by Jason Reitman. The film is adapted from a novel by Christopher Buckley. „Thank you For Smoking“ tells a story about Nick Naylor (Aaron Eckhart), who is a tobacco lobbyist. His job is to questioning opposing health claims and advocating personal choice and smoking. As he says in the film, he has a bachelor's degree in kicking ass and taking names. At the same time he tries to be a good father for his twelve year old son, Joey. As the tobacco sales are falling and anti-tobacco campaigns getting more influential, Naylor suggests that putting cigarettes back to movies could once again boost tobacco sales. His boss, called BR (J. K. Simmons), sends him to Los Angeles to meet the Hollywood superagent Jeff McGall. They work out a plan to put cigarettes in upcoming movies. Everything goes perfectly until Nick has an affair with ambitious journalist, Heather Holloway (Katie Holmes). Nick belives he can trust her and tells everything about his life and work. But Heather publishes an article about his life and secrets. After that, Nick gets kicked from his job. Eventually, he talks himself out of that mess and gets another job. Actors carry out their role perfectly especially Aaron Eckhart and J.K. Simmons. This film portrays perfectly the pain spots of America's society. However, in my opinion, I did not like the way how film portrays anti-tobbaco people, because they seemed to be rather ridiculous, which they...

Computer Fundamentals Caselet 1 Over the past two years Linux has spread like wildfire through corporate data centers. Companies once dependent on expensive proprietary systems from Sun, IBM, or HewlettPackard have replaced them with dirt-cheap Dell or no-name servers that are Intel powered and loaded with the Linux operating system. Linux now runs almost 15 percent of all servers and is growing at about 23 percent a year. And even mainframe systems have joined in, with IBM estimating that over 10 percent of its mainframe sales are for running Linux applications.Though PC users haven’t switched to Linux – less than 1 percent of all computers run Linux – a 2002 survey by CIO magazine found that almost 30 percent of chief technologists were considering moving their companies’ PCs to a Linux PC operating system like Lindows. ...Chapter 3 Overview: Crossovers and Covers Everything we have really discussed so far has taken place early 1900s, especially 1920s to the 1940s. (excepts for a few listening examples) Pop, Country Western, and Rhythm and Blues, the 3 genres that formed rock, actually coexisted in the early 50s. 1954-1956 was when things started to combine. The book says the 3 genres were “ruined.” Actually, the main 3 genres were not in ruins, many things in this chapter start to become opinion. The method for the combination of the 3 genres started with the crossover-records (songs) that originated in one market but succeeded in another. Of course examples existed before this time period but mainly started in the 50s. Frequently there were R&B songs that started to gain popularity on the Pop charts. Basically each genre had its own Billboard Top 100 chart, so for an R&B song to make it onto the Pop top 100 was very impressive and never happened before the 1950s. Be familiar with the crossover examples listed in the book as they may be on a test. They began producing their own crossovers. These became known as cover...

...is about the hunter and the hunted but later in the story it becomes ironic because it turns into a game were the hunter becomes the hunted. It turns into a chase of competition and of survival. Two sailors Rainsford and his partner Whitney sailed in to the darkness of the of sea. Their purpose was to hunt, they called it the " greatest sport". They were hunters and headed to the Amazon to hunt vicious animals such as Jaguars, and tigers. They sailed to an island called "Ship-Trap Island". Sailors feared this island and had curious dread of such a scarry place. The sky was filled with darkness when suddently he heard Three gun shots that were fired, and heard them again and again. Then he heard a scream while smoking a pipe when suddently the pipe fell and as he tried to reach for it he whent down into the sea were the waves swallowed his screams. Nobody could have heard him as the ocean swallowed his screams and the only chance of survival was to swim. Rainsford swam towards the screams and ended up in the Island. He walked on the shoreline and later found a place that looked like a mansion. There he met General Zaroff who bought the island to hunt. He was indeed a sporstman who invented a new sensation of the hunting game. His game was to train those men who's ships were wrecked and ended up in that island, and then provide them with food and a knife for three days. Once they were trained they were led out into the island as a head start while Zaroff chase after them and...

...Salamat aking Ina” “Inay!

...Harvard Business School 9-689-030 Rev. December 11, 1998 Donner Company In October 1987, Edward Plummer, president of the Donner Company, was reviewing the company's position prior to planning 1988 operations. strip: artifact consisting of a narrow flat piece of material The Donner Company manufactured printed circuit boards to the specifications of a variety of electronics manufacturers. Each board consisted of a thin sheet of insulating material with narrow metal strips (conductors) bonded to its surface. The insulating sheet acted as a structural member and supported electronic components connected by the conducting strips. In the customer's plant, assemblers (human and/or automated machinery) positioned electronic components in the predrilled holes in the board, soldered them into place, and then installed the board in the final electronic product. insulation - insulating material: a material that reduces or prevents the transmission of heat or sound or electricity At the end of 1987, there were 750 printed circuit board manufacturers in the United States. These manufacturers could be classified either as captive or contract manufacturers. Large electronics firms, such as IBM, AT&T and Digital Equipment, produced much of their own requirements in captive board shops. When large quantities of simple technology boards, or small quantities of fast turnaround prototype boards were required, these customers would usually subcontract production to contract manufacturers...

...hanking God is beyond words its more of showing yourself approve to him by doing and saying what the word says. I am sure to thank Him all the time. (1 Thessalonians 5:18 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you). The reason I give Him thanks is because “His love endures”( Psalm 136;3 3 O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever).”His mercy is ever lasting” (Psalm 100:5 5 For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations). When I am giving thanks I focus on my blessing rather my wants. As I finish thanking Him I began to praise him although both praise and thanking go hand and hand by praising God I am reminded of his power and presence. (Psalm 96:4 4 For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods). I also praise God by singing to him at varies times of the day it always stirs me up in the morning. There's plenty of ways of praising God songs, hymns, clapping hands even jumping for joy the list goes on. We will see manifestation of Gods blessings by praising him with all our heart, mind and soul.(Psalm 92:1-2 It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High:2 To shew forth thy loving kindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every...
