This noh kimono/costume was made during the 16th Century during the Azuchi-Momoyama period.
The noh costume was among the first silk costumes to be woven in Japan as silk techniques were just passed down from China.
The silk kimono is very elaborate. With brilliant silk patterns of Chinese origin and the use of thin thread to make it shinier and more comfortable to wear. The kimono also had a family crest woven onto it which suggests that the owner was highly honoured and respected.
