...1.0 Executive Summary AAA Transportation is a non-emergency medical transportation company. Non-emergency medical transportation businesses transport individuals, generally the elderly and disabled, who are not in an emergency situation but need more assistance than a taxi service provides. It has been delivering services for people with needs for over 15 year. For years the company’s main income came from transporting aged and disabled, where the main insurance was Medicaid. As the times are changing now, when more and more insurance providers and private management companies to perform non policy NEMT functions for services, Volga had to start winning its share in ever competitive New York Market. Taking into consideration that NEMT companies are prohibited from soliciting customers, AAA Transportation as a service provider has to increase the number of its wheelchair equipped vehicles, add vehicles with stretcher and add sedan’s to already existing fleet of 15. With the help of it marketing plan it intends to contract with various Long Term insurance companies who provide not only long term insurance help but offer transportation services. To get contracts with those companies we would have to prove that we excel in our services and provide our customers with timely and professional services. We also plan to expand geographically , where the services were only provided in one of New York Boroughs, we plan to expand to rest of the five boroughs of NYC. A sound marketing plan...

...Technology and Health Care Paper Healthcare and transportation have been growing and evolving almost simultaneously. Although on individual tracks, they are both moving towards a goal. When trying to accomplish a goal, there are some barriers that may challenge the progress towards the mission. As a new member of Sentara Healthcare, one of the largest non-for profit healthcare organizations in Virginia and North Carolina, I was able to see firsthand some areas in the Nursing Centers that needed improvement. One area of opportunity is improvement in transporting patients to needed services. In fact, “transportation is often cited as a major barrier to health care access” (Syed, Gerber, & Sharp, 2014, p. 976). I will like to team up with medical transport to provide an option for wrap around services to improve the gap by providing a bridge between transportation and access to medical and other social activities. This paper will explain the potential impact the transportation service will have on quality care, quality of life, cost of care, and access. Background Medical transport is a well known transportation company in the Virginia area and other states. They provide emergency and non emergency transportation services to individuals with conditions that are disabling or who need extra assistance with mobility. All drivers are trained through the Critical Care Emergency Medical Transport Program (CCEMTP). The CCEMTP is an educational program for people who will be transporting...

...Based on my crisis management / emergency preparedness expertise, I was assigned as the Supervisory Coordination Center Officer (SCCO). I was instrumental in the creation, implementation and start-up of the TSA Baton Rouge Coordination Center (BTR-CC). I attended the Airport Coordination Center Managers Training Course at the TSA Freedom Center. While there, I was able to tour the Transportation Security Operations Center (TSOC), Identification Verification Coordination center (IVCC), and the Critical Incident Management Group (CIMG) meeting areas. This gave me a strategic level view of the overall concept of operations (CONOPS) relative to emergency preparedness and incident response, within TSA. Additionally, I was tasked by my FSD to tour several already operational airport coordination centers to get “boots on the ground” ideas of what was needed for our...

...Impact of Organizational Environment The Federal government has become more involved in response and recovery from major disasters. With the just recent disaster of Hurricane Sandy that devastated north east portion of the United States, specifically New York and New Jersey; has called for the services of emergency response units for response. Even to this day, thousands of people are without electricity and heat in their homes; others are homeless because their homes were destroyed by the wind, fire, and the Atlantic Ocean. Mitigation and having a Contingency Plan is important to help prevent high numbers of loss of life. When Hurricane Sandy came through, flooding and powerful waves slammed into homes and businesses, flooding areas of communities; which prevented fire departments from extinguishing fires that broke out. Local and national news were able to warn people ahead of time of the hurricane that was approaching; in which has probably saved thousands of lives. However, one of the four phases of Emergency Management has yet to be implemented effectively; Recovery. With so many homes and business obliterated, thousands of people displaced and homeless; they are looking for help, support, and answers from the federal government. Utility companies are feverishly working to reinstate electricity to the homes and businesses that were not destroyed; but recovery is going to be a long process and funding will have to be required in order to support the communities...

...Taxi refers to for-hire automobile travel supplied by private companies. Taxi service is an important transportation option that meets a variety of needs, including basic mobility in emergencies, general transportation for non-drivers, and mobility for tourists and visitors. Taxi service can be an important backup option for other alternative forms of transport, such as allowing pedestrians to carry large loads back from a store, providing an emergency ride home when a cyclist has a medical or mechanical problem, or a guaranteed ride home for a rideshare or transit commuter. Taxi Improvements can be an important support for efforts to reduce personal automobile ownership and use, and encourage use of alternative modes. 1.1 Need for service There is a pressing need for reliable public transportation in the JB city area. Bus service is not a viable option for many people due to the limited scope of operation of bus service in the certain area. The buses operation does not run very long during the day and they are very restricted as to routes and times during the weekend and off-peak times. As a result, public transportation is always needed for those whom the bus cannot serve. 1.2 Demographics The amount of taxi business in the JB city area is strong and growing. The population in the greater metropolitan area exceeds 500,000 people and the community is dynamic and getting more vibrant with each passing day. The entire area has a low unemployment rate, a diversified economy...

...Order Code RL31285 CRS Report for Congress Received through the CRS Web FEMA’s Mission: Policy Directives for the Federal Emergency Management Agency Updated March 13, 2002 Keith Bea Specialist, American National Government Government and Finance Division Congressional Research Service ˜ The Library of Congress FEMA’s Mission: Policy Directives for the Federal Emergency Management Agency Summary The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) assists states and localities overwhelmed by, or at risk from, disasters. FEMA also coordinates federal emergency management activities and planning for the continuity of government should national security be threatened. Since 1979 FEMA has administered a range of authorities that enable the agency to serve as the primary source of federal technical and financial assistance for emergency management. Among the types of aid provided through FEMA programs are grants and material to help disaster victims meet pressing needs such as food and shelter, education and training programs to improve the response capabilities of nonfederal officials, and mobile communications equipment. FEMA exercises little regulatory authority, but directives that underlie the agency’s mission authorize the agency to establish standards for reconstruction of buildings after a disaster declaration is issued, for the construction of federal buildings in earthquake-prone areas, and for the operation of first responder equipment. FEMA has responded...

...information systems. Critical infrastructures are those physical and cyber-based systems essential to the minimum operations of the economy and government. They include, but are not limited to, telecommunications, energy, banking and finance, transportation, water systems and emergency services, both governmental and private. Many of the nation's critical infrastructures have historically been physically and logically separate systems that had little interdependence. As a result of advances in information technology and the necessity of improved efficiency, however, these infrastructures have become increasingly automated and interlinked. These same advances have created new vulnerabilities to equipment failure, human error, weather and other natural causes, and physical and cyber attacks. Addressing these vulnerabilities will necessarily require flexible, evolutionary approaches that span both the public and private sectors, and protect both domestic and international security. Because of our military strength, future enemies, whether nations, groups or individuals, may seek to harm us in non- traditional ways including attacks within the United States. Because our economy is increasingly reliant upon interdependent and cyber-supported infrastructures, non-traditional attacks on our infrastructure and information systems may be capable of significantly harming both our military power and our economy. t has always been the policy of the United States to ensure the continuity and...
