...The decision to pursue my MBA degree was never a difficult one. When I first entered the business world in 1994 I soon knew that in order for me to achieve my personal and professional goals in life further education was going to be necessary. However, I did not think it would have taken me seventeen years to begin my journey to accomplish this goal. So far in my professional life, I would consider myself to be a success. I have worked for three companies since receiving my Bachelor of Science degree in 1994 in two different industries. I have earned accolades and awards for sales and marketing performance from all three companies and I have been told that I am seen as a leader with potential for upward mobility. After taking the Jungian 16-Type Personality test, I received a score of ISFJ. This fits right in line with my past work experience because this test shows that I am loyal and willing to make sacrifices for the greater good. I was surprised to find I was introverted because typically successful sales people are extroverts. They reach out to clients and look for ways to connect with people where introverts mostly keep to themselves. However, during the last few years my personal job satisfaction has been low and the pharmaceutical sales industry has been enduring massive layoffs (Brice, 2009). Although, my current company is somewhat “bucking the trend” regarding reducing sales force sizes, I believe that all companies are not immune to the trend. So, the...

...Elizandro A Mendiola 9/24/2013 Kantz Response What Kantz says as in her main points are that people think just because it’s in a text or in a text book it’s a fact. She also said we read to transmit and receive information. When we do an argumentative essay it usually means that we are supposed to argue something and most of the times we end up retelling the story in a more descriptive manner. We are supposed to question everything rather than agree of follow along with everything. Another thing she said was that rhetorical reading is not a magical technique for producing sophisticated papers. I think she is correct because it has happened to me when I am supposed to do like a document based question where I have to read and analyze something it is harder for me to first understand and then try to ask questions about it to myself and think about how this can lead to further analysis. She also mentions that it is hard to read texts and then try to write something off it without telling the story which has been proven for me to be hard. Sometimes we think that the task is do something but we are so used to just analyzing something for its content and then writing about it rather than going in depth and actually making it an argumentative essay. This also helps me understand because one time I just decided to put whatever on an essay prompt because I figured I just have to know the college rather than understand and analyze the article that it was about. However now I know...

...Despite the summer, the weather was hazy on that day in May 2004 as the airplane took off from Hongqiao International Airport, Shanghai. The plane was likely to encounter some turbulence on its way to Copenhagen Airport in Denmark. The COO of the Danish shoe manufacturer ECCOA/S (ECCO), Mikael Thinghuus, did not particularly enjoy bumpy flights, but the rough flight could not overshadow the confidence and optimism he felt after his visit to Xiamen in southeast China. This was his third visit in three months. During 2003/2004, ECCO spent substantial resources on analyzing where to establish production facilities in China. On this trip, together with Flemming Brønd the production director in China, Thinghuus had finalized negotiations with Novo Nordisk Engineering (NNE). NNE possessed valuable experience in building factories in China, experience gained through their work for Novozymes...

...style that dominates at Novo Nordisk is the authoritative style; this style mobilizes the team toward a common vision and focuses on end goals, leaving the means up to each individual. The authoritative style works nest for a team that is goal oriented and vision driven. I would also say the affiliation leadership style is displayed at Novo Nordisk because it’s a company that cares more than just the money. Novo Nordisk has stronger values they care about their clientele and customers and what they put out in society. The leaders at Novo Nordisk know what is most important to the company and they instill these values in their employees. When it was important to them to reduce the emission levels they worked towards that goal through caring about the people by affiliating themselves with the people and implementing authority and mobilizing the tem to achieve a goal, through doing this they succeeded in reducing emission levels as well as water consumption. Novo Nordisk’s leadership influences its organizational design and shapes its competition strategy by setting goals and implementing ways on achieving those goals. One way they try to achieve their financial goals is by understanding that people care about how the big corporations treat them as a clientele. Novo Nordisk tries to display that extra care in order for their customers to keep coming back. How a big corporation treats the environment is very important to most people therefore Novo Nordisk strategically affiliate themselves...
