It is a wonderful experience knowing some interesting facts about North America. As I've done several researches and readings about it, I learned so much about this great continent which is the 3rd largest continent in the world. It is consisted of Twenty-four countries in North America. There are approximately 502 million people inhabited North America. And North Americans speak English, Spanish, or French. Its name came from explorer Amerigo Vespucci. Mexico City is the largest city in North America. It is the only continent that has every kind of climate. The North American economic aspect is well organized and built in three main economic areas. Two of North America's most amazing geographical features are the Great Plains and the Mississippi River System, both of which are attractive in so many ways. The Great Plains of North America slope east of the Rockies and run to the edge of the Canadian Shield and the western edges of the Appalachians. The land is perfectly smooth with huge treeless areas and shallow river valleys. Minor hills and mountains are located in the Ozark Plateau of Missouri, and in the Boston Mountains and Ouachita Mountains of northwestern Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma. It runs from northwestern Minnesota south to the Gulf of Mexico, in the bottom part is the city of New Orleans. It is an important transportation way and when combined with its main tributaries which is the Missouri and Ohio rivers it will be the third largest river system in the world at (3,877 miles) (6,236 km) in length.
