...the anesthesiologists gives the patient too high of a dosage, it could kill the patient, which would cause a lawsuit. From researching other occupations that intrigue me, I believe I want to focus on becoming an anesthesiologist for the emergency room. I like the idea of having a buildup of adrenaline running through my body, while putting someone under anesthesia for an emergency surgery. From all the research I have conducted, there are several schools in North Carolina that offer an anesthesia program in their graduate school. I also have concluded that many of these schools are expensive, but offer a remarkable amount of scholarships and grants for those who are less fortunate. Many schools in North Carolina offer a program focusing on anesthesia. A few schools have stuck out in my research. UNC Charlotte offers a program for Nurse Anesthetists through the Carolinas Medical Center they are partnered with. UNCG also offers an anesthesia program through the Raleigh School of Anesthesia. Lastly, Western Carolina University offers a twenty-eight month Nurse Anesthetist program. Out of all my research that I have conducted on schools that offer programs in anesthesia, I am leaning more towards UNC Charlotte. I have toured the campus and have fallen in love with the view. UNC Charlotte has everything that a college student would ever need right on campus. UNC Charlotte stands out to me because it reminds me of home. The campus is only an hour and a half from my house and forty-five...

...Mrs. Holdway, I have been an educator in the Claiborne County schools for 36 years, but Wednesday I had an incident occur that has never happened throughout my career. I put in a technology requisition to have computer internet repairs done in the lab. Today, Chad and Brian came to fix the issues. First, let me say that Brian was both and polite and professional towards me. Immediately though, Chad accused me in front of a room full of students, as well as two other teachers, of allowing the students to ultrasurf while in the lab. If you are not aware of ultrasurf, it is a Chrome app extension that allows students access to blocked websites. I tried to explain to him that I had seen this extension pop up automatically when websites were...

...“Swampwise” Secrets, Songs & Stories from “The Land of the Trembling Earth!” by Okefenokee Joe is a four disc collection of original songs and quirky stories about swamp life in the southeastern United States. Okefenokee Joe is the alter ego of Dick Flood. Flood was prolific in the early country music scene, known for his singing and crafting of chart-topping songs for other artists. He was a regular on the Grand Old Opry and spent many years touring nationally and internationally with his band, The Pathfinders. Despite being active in the Nashville country scene, Dick Flood never got that big break so many performers try to attain. In 1973, in his early forties, Dick packed up his Volkswagen Thing and faded into Georgia’s Great Okefenokee Swamp and became Okefenokee Joe. Okefenokee Joe spent the next ten years of his life acting as a custodian for the swamp and the many animals that call it home. After leaving the swamp, he continued his work as a wildlife educator. He combined his love of the swamp and his musical background to craft fun and educational songs about life in the swamp. After finding success on Georgia Public Broadcasting, Okefenokee Joe went on to publish wildlife books and professionally record many of his unique songs. Swampwise is a collection of many of those songs and is interspersed with parables of the lessons he learned while living in the swamp. All of the songs on the first three CDs are introduced by a story told by Okefenokee Joe. The sound quality...

...and author.rnie Barnes Ernie Barnes, an artist who with each stroke of his brush propelled modern “black art” into the mainstream during a time when the words “black” and “art” were deemed far from synonymous. As a one-time professional athlete in the NFL he said it best, One day on the playing field I looked up and the sun was breaking through the clouds, hitting the unmuddied areas on the uniforms, and I said, That’s beautiful!’… I knew then that it was all over being a player. I was more interested in art.” His impact on the world of art will definitely live on despite his recent death. His artistic genius and bold, intense, and exaggerated technique will be flattered by imitation, adoption, and admiration for years to comes. The university is committed to sports art, establishing the American Sport Art Museum and Archives in 1984. It is arguably the largest collection of sport art in the world. Ernie Barnes coveted work had been commissioned by the likes of Slyvester Stallone, The 1984 Olympic Games, Alex Hailey, Mary Tyler Moore, the NBA, Kanye West, and the list goes on and on. His most famed piece “Sugar Shack” was the endearing centerpiece in many scenes of Good Times, a staple television series in the African-American community during the 1970′s. Ernie Barnes legacy will be his impeccable ability to paint subjects in motion, specifically athletes, dancers, and youth. Barnes died on Monday, April 27th, 2009 why do you like this picture? ...However, as the business began to grow she found herself in a dilemma. The question facing her was that whether she should stay in the small Northern Maine or expand her business to greater heights by moving to somewhere else. In the following paragraphs, we will analyze Quimby’s situation in detail and suggest solutions for this complex situation. To begin, we believe that Quimby should remain in North Carolina because financially it’s the best decision for her company. The location of the company in a small town in Northern Maine, which creates high costs for the company. The town is not near any metropolitan areas, which makes shipping products and receiving materials very difficult. The shipping costs for the products are very high and creates more costs than necessary. Another problem with Maine is that the state has very high payroll taxes. It would be very inefficient to reestablish operations in Maine because of the high shipping costs and high payroll taxes. By moving to North Carolina, it would create many advantages for Quimby in these areas. Quimby stated that North Carolina was well centrally placed and that a large percentage of the country’s population lived within a 12-hour drive...

...1. The concepts of ethics are illustrated in this chapter. Ethics is a concern of humans who have freedom of choice. Responsibility, accountability and liability are issues that are raised by radiation technology. In this case we see that the carelessness or laziness of the medical technician, the lack of training in the handling of the equipment (software), also of the maintenance of the updates of the software can cause the life a person. These errors cause by humans or machines can be prevented: if software had some type of safeguards that control the amount of radiation that they can deliver, if the technician or machine operators were more aware of the message errors, that appear on the screen, and if the hospitals had given the proper training to their staff. Technicians, hospital and the software manufacturer all need to collaborated with each other to create a common set of safety procedures, software features in order to prevent this to happen, all of them are responsible. Each of them had the capacity to prevent this type of things to happen and they all decide to blame each other for their own mistakes. The use of a central reporting agency could reduce the numbers of radiation therapy errors in the future because this enables the state to identify trends and exposures that may create safety concerns. If I were to design electronic software for a linear acceleration, I will certainly put some type of safeguards that control the amount of radiation that they can deliver...

...Factors to consider when choosing an appliance repair technician There are several things that make lives easier. Gadgets are some of these things. They help in completing work within a short period of time and also ensure that the work is done effectively. Sometimes these gadgets or electronics many fail to work as expected. They might fail to work due to different factors. One of the factors is poor maintenance. They need to be regularly checked by an expert for any faults. Using them when they are not functioning accordingly can lead to greater problems to the user and also to the machine. Some machines which have loose connections can lead to electrocutions. ... Career fields today are hard to choose from. One may want to be a doctor while another will want to be a Veterinary Technician. As a Veterinary Technician one will take a person’s animal into their own hands. The animal could be sick, and the Technician will have to nurse it back to health. Without this profession people would have no way of diagnosing their animals and potentially saving their lives. Even the vaccinations potentially save one’s life. When going into the Veterinary Technician profession, it is important to know about the education, daily work, rewards, drawbacks, and the issues of spaying or neutering an animal. In order to become a Veterinary Technician there is some education required. During the college years of a major in Veterinary Medicine one will be required to get a “two year Associate’s degree” (Veterinary Technician Career and Degree Guide). During the program one would practice and learn in a professional veterinary facility. One would learn how to administer medications correctly, analyze labs such as urine and blood, provide surgical assistance to the Doctor, administer and monitor animals under anesthesia, take radiographic images, and conduct patient assessments. During this time frame each technician will work on his/her math, science, and communication skills. Veterinary Technicians are required to “take a credentialing exam and become registered, licensed, or certified depending on the state” (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). In the state...
