...Mini Project #1 Ci: Conscientious Innovation is a Sustainability Research Consulting Business based in Vancouver, Portland, and New York. Their objective focus is on relationships between the consumer, brands, and sustainability, in order to direct a creative and positive shift into today’s business world. Conscientious Innovation has created what is called “The Shift Report,” which is an ongoing research idea, primarily focused on psychological influences on market behavior North America. From The Shift Report, came the Sustainability Passion Index, which is a market segmented into five specified segments that relate to ones own values, beliefs, and attitudes towards sustainability. The five segments include, The Vocal Globalist, The Causal Spectator, The Pragmatic Believer, The Hyper Local, and The Self Serving Non Believer. After reviewing the Sustainability Passion Index, I am convinced that I would fall into the segment, “The Self Serving Non Believer.” The most important aspect in my life is my relationships with my family, and friends. I grew up in a culture where I inherited the idea that family and friends are of the up-most importance. They are your support and direction. Although there are times when you will be disappointed and resentful towards these individuals, it is they who are at your side to laugh and cry; to support and encourage; and to keep you grounded during times of hardship, and joyfulness. Due to the quality of my relations I find that...

...The client’s beliefs about health and their attitudes towards CT’s Leanne believes that it is very important to stay healthy and active, especially with her CFS. She has to make sure to do a reasonable amount of exercise and also to watch what she eats. She additionally believes that everyone is responsible for their own health, she goes by the motto that nobody can help you but yourself. In regards to her condition, she believes that it is just genetics that caused her to develop it, rather than her lifestyle as she has always been reasonably healthy, she doesn’t feel as though she is in control of inevitable diseases which she may develop (such as CFS or some forms of cancer), but she does know that other factors such as obesity and heart disease can be controlled by the lifestyle in which she leads. In Leanne’s opinion, her lifestyle and health is a lot more important than work, hence why she has now decided to work three days a week, so she doesn’t tire herself out. She has confidence in both conventional treatments and complementary therapies. However, a big disadvantage of conventional medicines is the side effects which they give her, whereas complementary therapies give her no side effects at all. In other words, she prefers complementary therapies to conventional medicines but she still uses them both. Consequently, Leanne has a positive attitude towards complementary therapies due to the fantastic results that she has received from them. She believes that they should...

...Matthew Hendrickson Tree Lab Questions 1. Recursive algorithms work well for trees because recursion allows for storing areas that have been traversed on the system stack, so that all avenues can be explored. Similar to the maze example from the chapter on recursion. Recursion also works well when the same steps have to be repeated on different parts of a data structure and is often simpler and more elegant than iteration with a loop. The same way an array is continuously broken and half and searched for a binary search, traversing a tree requires breaking a large tree into smaller trees. 2. Binary trees are only efficient when they are balanced. A balanced binary tree can be searched quickly, with growth of O(log n). If the tree is unbalanced, it can become similar to a linked list, which has a search growth of O(n). Inserting elements in binary trees requires similar operations no matter what type it is, and are similar to a Doubly Linked List in efficiency. The most efficient types of binary trees are self balancing. 3. A level order traversal requires the use of some kind of collection to hold all the elements in a level, then those items are searched in order. A Queue is the best type of collection for this, since the items can be added to the queue from left to right and then dealt with in order, for each level. A recursive level order traversal is possible, but it requires visiting each node twice, which makes it much less efficient than using a while loop and...

...people believe that what they download has little effect of the entertainment industry and no one suffers in the process. If one takes into account that one person downloads a CD that costs $16, that one CD for that one person does make little difference on the larger picture. Take that one person and multiply it by 1 million, which is likely a fraction of the amount of illegal downloads; the entertainment industry will now have lost $16 million. Imagine the ramifications if each person downloaded two or three CDs each. How much less would CDs cost if every piece of music was purchased properly. Education has opened my eyes to see that piracy can harm entertainment companies. I was not aware that not just illegal downloading but copying or uploading friend’s CDs, movies, and other items is also considered piracy and hurts the entertainment industry. Educating the general population, I believe will help reduce piracy and potentially decrease the purchasing cost of movies and music. Creating anti-piracy ads and presenting them at the movie theatres and on television will help increase...

...also enables remote access, and increases efficiency by eliminating duplication and errors. Also, maintenance of cloud computing is significantly cheaper than fixed assets like buildings and land. 2. Cloud computing has a few disadvantages as well. Applications based on cloud computing depend on the service provider for maintenance usually, and if something were to go wrong with the providers systems, the users will not be able to access the data or operate on their usual terms; this is a huge drawback. The security of this sensitive information is also at risk if there are errors or hacking attacks made on the server systems for cloud computing. Security is a key issue that is being tackled on an everyday basis. Also, most users get uploading and downloading privileges, so information can be shared top to bottom in an organization easily as well as horizontally. This same information could be used for illegal activities within or outside the organization since files are easily accessible. 3. Total Cost of Ownership includes the direct and indirect costs of a product or system estimated to help buyers and owners make decisions. Scalability is the ability of a...

If it has been taken you have the option to bid for it and then buy that is if the owner sells you the domain. You can buy a domain name through any hosting sites and reserve it, but most of the hosting sites let you choose a free new domain when you host from them, so that is a less costlier option. There are many hosting sites available, but I am going with godaddy.com because their rates are low at this time and their support is good too. So, go to godaddy.com and choose a Word-Press hosting which is at one dollar a month. Pay them and choose a new domain. The next option asks you if you are uploading your files or if you are continuing to Word-Press.Choose the option that takes you to the Word-Press page.I have assumed that...

However occasionally the server might be down or there can be some error in the log in application which causes the students some distress as the portal cannot be accessed at that specific time wanted or needed. Blackboard is efficient to a certain extent to obtaining documents and information however sometimes downloading data from Blackboard can be troublesome for some students without a printer and these students would have to make sure they print their notes in advance in university before each class. Sometimes it would just be better if all documents are uploaded at the beginning of the semester instead of uploading the documents required each week in advance. In that way, students can print out all their materials way in advance and it saves them a lot of trouble rather than printing each time separately which can be time consuming. On the other hand, I think Blackboard...
