I believe the growth is reasonable as technology becomes more evolved, starting at 2,300 to four billion in over a 40 year difference. The growth seems surprisingly fast because in just half that time 42 million was reached. I think in the next 10-15 years, 100 billion would be able to fit on a single chip. Or even sooner because nowadays there are more sources and the growth of technology can only become more hi-tech and advanced where even reaching a transistor count of one trillion can be reached within the next 20 years I...

...Professors of Filipino breaking bad over CHED memo By MARK ANGELES June 14, 2014 12:32pm (Updated 12:39 p.m., June 15, 2014) College professors who teach Filipino and supporters of the Filipino language in general are contesting a Commission on Higher Education (CHED) memorandum that will remove the teaching of Filipino from the General Education Curriculum (GEC). According to the CHED Memorandum (CMO) No. 20, series of 2013, Filipino will no longer be part of the GEC by 2016 and the teaching of Filipino at the college level will be limited to Filipino majors and Education in Filipino majors. The CHED justified its removal of college-level Filipino by saying that the subject would be covered in Grades 11 and 12 under the new K-12 curriculum. “Hangga't maari, pagdating mo sa college, mga major subjects na lang,” explained CHED Executive Director Julito Vitriolo. The National Commission for Culture and the Arts' National Committee on Language and Translation (NCCA-NCLT), however, believes otherwise. Last May 23, its members unanimously signed a resolution asking the GEC be revised again, but this time to include nine mandatory units of Filipino for all courses at the tertiary level. The Pambansang Samahan sa Linggwistika at Literaturang Filipino, Ink. (PSLLF), an organization that promotes the use of Filipino, has thrown its support behind the NCCA-NCLT resolution by promoting a change.org petition which asks the CHED and Congress to include the nine Filipino units...

Organizational behavior is referred as a field of study that investigates the impact that individuals groups, and structure has on behavior within organizations, for the purpose of applying such knowledge toward improving an organizations, for the purpose of applying such knowledge toward improving an organization`s effectiveness. `You can teach smart people anything` are the words spoken by Microsoft founder Bill Gates who believes that the IQ score of an individual is more important than the experience he got, especially when he or she is applying for a job. It is true tha the greatest asset of any successful company is the combined intelligence of the workforce working for it. A company never hires an individual just because there is a vacancy place that needs to be filled, or the applier is highly experienced and intelligent. The fact is that the company hires an employee to who its see as a navigator, who will follow to the path of success. Thus, it is important to draw an attention to the intelligence of an individual rather than just hire him on the basis of his experience. In any work environment, there are various types of people who differ from each to another on the base of skin color, height, gender...

For Tolstoy, aesthetic values are defined by moral values” (Tolstoy, Para. 1). Popular things that are considered to be art are usually paintings, moldings, etc., but there are plenty of other categories that is art. Art must have five attributes that all go hand in hand. Art must be beautiful, meaningful, flow, easily accessible, and requires talent. The R&B Soul Music category may not seem as art to some; but it in fact is art. ...other human beings of another race, or feel as if they are upholding pride within their race and therefore fulfilling some duty. "He’s nothin’ but a nigger-lover!”(9. 110). Atticus is assaulted of defending a colored man because he was appointed by the judge but he would accepted anyway. He took the case because he thought that the town might need to see that racism is not the code of life, and another reason is he wouldn’t be able to hold up his head in town and command Jem and Scout as to what they can or can’t do. Some people argue that you shouldn’t communicate with others that are not the same class as you considering that they are different. But in reality you shouldn’t be treated different because your race, skin color, or class. After that, Noah decided to stay behind and stay at a stream near the California border, because he thought that his family didn't love him as much as the other children. Ma Joad wanted the family to stay together in one house. For example, when Rose of sharon tells ma that she and Connie plan on finding their own house, and Connie was going to study overnight and find a job with good pay, Ma gets upset and won’t allow it. Another example would be when the car breaks down and Tom decides that him and Casy will stay back to fix the car and Ma doesn't like the idea. In this quote, “What we got lef’ in the worl’? ...you, you ain't nothin', don't believe him, And if he can't learn to love you, you should leave him” The second verse talks about mothers and the sacrifices they make so their children can have a better life than them. Tupac raps, “And I realize momma really paid the price|She nearly gave her life, to raise me right.” Tupac only now realizes the sacrifices she made so that he might have a chance to have life that was better her own. Tupac raps about how despite all the sacrifices that his mom may make, the society he lives in puts him down, and doesn't let him grow. He says things like, “I'm tryin' to make a dollar out of fifteen cents” and “We ain't meant to survive, 'cause it's a setup.” Essentially, what he is trying to say with this verse is that people shouldn't blame bad things that happen on their mother, because the way that the society has treated blacks puts them in a bad position, and they have to try and “make a dollar out of fifteen cents.” The third and final verse is about how a lot of women have to have babies on their own, without support from some sort of father figure. Tupac says, I know it's kinda rough and you're feelin' all alone, Daddy's long gone and he left you by ya lonesome. He understands that its hard, and that life is difficult for these mothers. At the same time, Shakur understands that there is a lot of pain in being raising a child without a father, as well as how hard it is for the child. For example, He says 'Cause ain't nothin' worse than when...

The premise of the trial was to establish if Tom was guilty or not when Mayella unfairly accused Tom of raping her. In reality, Tom was just a innocent bird who was trying to survive without harming anyone. When Mayella’s father saw that a negro was near his daughter, he angrily chased him away. He then proceeded to beat Mayella, and presumably even sexually assaulted her. If this matter was ever released to the public, her family would be the laughingstocks of the whole county, and she would have to face her father’s wrath. The only way to escape this would be to blame Tom of rape and save her selfish self. But as Atticus was clearly showing...

...the heavily fought for dream collapsed, George interpreted what it really meant. None of them have any clue how to live without it, as with the idea of having it all gone, makes everyone speculate what they did without it, and how much more it really was than just a place to live. Daily, id and ego are both encountered, and both ends of this spectrum are being denoted in the novel. Lennie is being depicted as a follower, as well him being deprived of his individuality as a person. He doesn't seem to care that he no longer has any senses of his own, nor can he survive alone. He shows this by following along to whatever George orders. When George ordered Lennie to remain quiet, Lennie agreed "'I ain't gonna say nothin'… I ain't gonna say nothin'…I ain't gonna say nothin'"(7). Lennie has failed to realize the seriousness of having original thoughts as he consistently locks in whatever George says. Steinbeck is showing us id in this instance. The loss of individuality can also be the greatest loss, as one has no sense of belonging without having a personality, as then one is simply a nobody. George is angered to know how he has a person who only follows him around as he exploded, "'Jesus Christ, Lennie! You can't remember nothing that happen, but you remember ever' word I say'"(103). George's anger tells us how he is realizing how Lennie has lost his individuality. His temper is simply coming from the fact that he knows how Lennie can never survive in the world, as the only thing...

...Zora Neale Hurston’s breakthrough fiction piece “Spunk”, penned in 1925 was received with warm welcomes as she won the literary contest in the Urban League’s journal Opportunity. Within the notable piece is the tale of the namestay, Spunk, a predominant male amongst town ripe with courage and male bravado as “he ain’t skeered of nothin‘ on God’s green footstool—nothin’! He rides that log down at sawmill jus‘ like he struts ’round wid another man’s wife—jus‘ don’t give a kitty”. Spunk embodies everything there would be to be sought after within the ideal male archetype in the introduction, vehemently strong and easily getting his hands dirty with the woman of the town yet he is missing something, that being a strong woman that can be by his side, which is where we see the urgency of the character of Lena Kanty, married to the contrastingly to Spunk, timid and apprehensive Joe Kanty. As Spunk is seen unapologetically intermingling with Joe’s wife, the townsfolk acting like a greek tragedy chorus, although not singing but rather balking the events of the story with a use of a broken english that is often a bit hard to follow. Once Joe is eventually enlightened of the cuckolding we see a transformation and the appearance of one of the major themes of the piece, Courage. Courage as it is often seen is a natural occurrence, as seen in Spunk and notably absent in Joe to with primarily seen as unchanging but as the events unfold within the story we see that this is not quite the case and courage ...
