1. The nutritionist wants to know the difference in saturated fat contained in Big Mac as compared to Jolly Burger. Instead of relying the published data of the two companies, the nutritionist buy 25 Big Mac and 29 Jolly Burger. She found out that Big Mac have an average saturated fat content of 12.2 grams per burger with standard deviation of 2.6 grams. The Jolly Burger have an average of 11.3 grams per burger with a standard deviation of 3.1 grams. Decide how you would responds to the claim at 5% significance that the average saturated of the two types of burgers are different.

2. The mothers claimed that baby boys start walking at an early age than the baby girls. A random sample of 18 girls started walking at a mean age of 12.5 months with a standard deviation of 0.8 months. A sample of 12 boys had a mean of 12.1 and a standard deviation of 0.7. Test the hypothesis at 5% level of significance.

1. A random sample of 17 call center agents in Quezon city has a monthly mean income of 35,800php and a standard deviation of 7,800. In Metro Manila, a random sample of 18 call center agents has a monthly mean income of 35,100php and a standard deviation of 7,375php. Test the claim at a = 0.01 that the mean annual incomes in the two cities are not the same. Assume the population variances are equal.

2. A reading center claims that students will perform better on a standardized reading test after going through the reading course offered by their center. The table shows the reading scores of 6 students before and after the course. At a = 0.05, is there enough evidence to conclude that the students’ scores after the course are better than the scores before the course?
