Introduction:
OMNeT++ is an object oriented discrete event simulator for modeling of wired or wireless communication networks, multiprocessors, distributed systems and evaluating performance of software systems. OMNeT++ is a model which communicates via message passing. Simple Modules are the basic modules that are written in c++ by the simulation library. Modules communicate messages through gates with arbitrary data which includes information like time stamp. Modules can have parameters which help to know the model topology. Several simple are combined to form compound modules and they pass parameters or expressions to sub modules. OMNeT++ important features are hierarchically nested modules, flexible module parameters, modules are instances of module types and modules communicate with messages through channels. Simulation programmer can select event-driven process, process style description and object oriented concepts and design concepts to extend the functionality of the simulator. Event #1 is host A (llc) registering higher layer with DSAP=241 on port=1. Event #2 is host B (llc) registering higher layer with DSAP=241 on port=1. Event #3 is host A (cli) is generating packet and event #4 is host A (llc) registering higher layer with DSAP=241 on port=0 Event #5 is host A(llc) encapsulates the packet sent by host A(cli).
