...I remember you mentioned - when you met with MPW Engineers you talk about the Contract documents. On this point, in 2014, I did some research and compared the different type of contracts MPW and others were using at that time. I had looked at the NEC3, AIA, FIDIC, General Government model contracts, the Purchase order, etc. and I compared them to each other. Please the excel spreadsheet attachment. What I found was very interesting - here are some of the key findings: • There are 15 or more types of contracts (this also includes the Government model contracts and E1 PO) for small to large projects (Works, Services and Goods) being utilized. • There appear to be duplication of contract types –e.g. between the Government Model contracts, FIDIC and/or NEC3 for minor and major works. • MPW and previously the Architects/OPMP were the major issuer of Works Contracts, however many other departments regularly execute (supply and service) contracts but did not have access to the contract software applications. • Not all the Users were properly trained on how to use contracts and/or not aware of the software applications. • There were no clear records as to who can and/or does create and issues contracts and/or how many contracts were out in any given year. • There are annual fees for the each contract software - NEC3, AIA and FIDIC licenses – and these are being paid for by MPW, and these software applications are not available to others Ministries. Many of the NEC3 could...

...Hi all. Thanks for the info. Just to again pass on the history of these agreements… When the QEP contracts were batch loaded into the system, there was a file cabinet that was missed and some contracts were not part of the upload. The contracts were all dated between 1997 and 2008. The majority of the contracts have had no activity against them and did not even have an SAP vendor number number issued, even though there is evergreen clause in them. (I think there was spend on like 10 of the 250 contracts we originally looked at.) Some vendor names have changed since the contracts were issued. All contracts were entered into the system with a status of “closed” and given a termination date of 12/31/13. This termination date was determined by our legal group and by records retention. When we were looking to have theses entered by a mass upload, Usman and I took a pretty hard look at which of the fields would be required and which would not provide useful data. The data that was sent over is a result of those decisions. Some of the data you are looking for will be easier to gather than others… Data that is Easy/Possible to provide • Supplier Name (missing for a few contracts)-I did not see the final sheet that went over to you. According to the attached, it looks like there are two, BHI and Northwinds that you are missing on there? Please confirm these are the only ones? I’ll make sure they are on the sheet when the new info is sent. • Contracting Entity*** Data that...

...During my first meeting with my manager we discussed concepts such as sample allocation and materiality, which I was also aware of due to taking Auditing I. This meant that I was able to ask him questions and show him that I had a basic understanding of what he was telling me. It is also interesting seeing concepts I have learnt in class in real world application. For example, in this class I was introduced to working papers. Now, every day I worked at EPRA I completed working papers. For EPRA, this meant using an Excel spreadsheet with templates for different tests that needed to be done. Another important concept we discussed was the different types of audit reports such as an unmodified opinion report or a modified opinion report. For most of the audits that I worked on, the final audit report showed minimal errors. However, there were many past files that I read that had considerable errors and charges so I was exposed to both ends of the spectrum. 3 party accountability Conclusion Spending the summer of 2016 working as a compliance analyst for EPRA has been a priceless experience. One of the main reasons I chose to go to Guelph-Humber was due to the required placement, because I know that being able to show future possible employers that I have experience is a great asset. Over my placement term I have used many skills acquired at Guelph-Humber and learnt new ones that will help me in my future career. My university education so far was a great asset to succeeding in this...

...When I was a nanny I was watching 2 little boys and the one could not and would not separate himself from the T.V. or the electronics. That was not the case with the youngest one he loved to build things, with blocks, books, and blankets. He would stack things on top of each other to see how high they would go before they would start to lean or fall. He loved playing with other kids, but one of the things that he loved to do by himself was play with the blocks. One of the many times that he was playing and I was observing him, he was using the new bock set that he had gotten for Christmas. They were very similar to jenga blocks in their shape and size but they were all different colors. I watched him separate all the colors from each other and he built different towers out of each color. Then after he had done that he took all the colors and started stacking them up as high as he could the first few times he didn’t get very far because he would hit it on accident and the whole stack would tumble over, but he never gave up. Just like the kid in the video he kept trying and had the determination and the drive to get every...

...what I was looking for. Meeting with “strangers” around Texas Instruments for the first time and communicating the issue and what was needed from them was rather challenging. Presumably, these employees I needed to meet with would notice the meeting requests I send out and they didn’t really know what the meeting was about or who I was. In fact, I had people who didn’t even show up to the meetings I scheduled with them! But, later on, I would reschedule it and they would eventually show up. It just took patience and persistence. Not only during my meetings were my communication skills enhanced, but during networking events as well. Texas Instruments held many intern and networking occasions where we were advised to network with other individuals. As a slight introvert, I found these networking events to be awkward at first, but they got easier and easier down the road. Eventually, I gathered and now hold many connections within and throughout Texas Instruments. Outlook Mastery...

...Exercise One Nt1310 Week 1 In: Computers and Technology Exercise One Nt1310 Week 1 NT1310:Week 1 Telecommunications By: Kenneth Martin You are an IT Network Specialist and are required to develop the design of the company’s telephone system for its new building which will begin construction in a few months. In order to get a background which will help when developing the new system, your supervisor asked you to research the current Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) currently used by the company. You must research the system components and report back to your supervisor , the Telecommunications Manager, within a week. 1. Describe a local land line phone system based on the following Landline Telephone Components: a. Local Loop a local loop is the wired connection from a telephone company's central office in a locality to its customers' telephones at homes and businesses. This connection is usually on a pair of copper wires called twisted pair. The system was originally designed for voice transmission only using analog transmission technology on a single voice channel. Today, your computer's modem makes the conversion between analog signals and digital signals. With Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) or Digital Subscriber Line (DSL), the local loop can carry digital signals directly and at a much higher bandwidth than they do for voice only. b. Central Office In telephone communication in the United States, a central office (CO) is an office in a locality...

...Brenda Deni NT1310: Physical Networking Unit 2 Assignment 1 3/30/2014 Service Provider Types * RBOCS: Regional Bell Operating Company Service * Regional Bell operating company (RBOC) is a term describing one of the U.S. regional telephone companies (or their successors) that were created as a result of the breakup of American Telephone and Telegraph Company (AT&T, known also as the Bell System or "Ma Bell") by a U.S. Federal Court consent decree on December 31, 1983. The seven original regional Bell operating companies were Ameritech, Bell Atlantic, BellSouth, NYNEX, Pacific Bell, Southwestern Bell, and US WEST. It is important in telecommunications because RBOCs are generally in competition for digital data and Internet traffic with wireless service providers and cable TV companies. RBOCs are gradually making available new telephone carrier technologies such as ISDN and DSL. * ILEC: Incumbent Local Exchange Carrier * Is a local telephone company in the United States that was in existence at the time of the breakup of AT&T into the Regional Bell Operating Companies (RBOCs), also known as the "Baby Bells." The ILEC is the former Bell System or Independent Telephone Company responsible for providing local telephone exchange services in a specified geographic area. ILECs compete with competitive local exchange carriers (CLEC). When referring to the technical communities ILEC is often used just to mean a telephone provider. * CLEC: Competitive...
