Part 2: The standards that I would use based on New York State for my centers is having children actively engage in art by using the resources and materials available to them. Another state standard I would use is standard 7- Interdisciplinary Problem Solving. This standard will help children by teaching them how to make decisions, problem solve, work effectively, realize ideas, and gather and process information. Another standard I would us is Standard 2- Providing a safe and Healthy environment for children. In this research it talks about our interactions between our brain functions and our physical and social environments. How are environments are constantly changing and how we interact and relate to others. I found this research to be true as far as our brains develop. As children become older and progress in growth, their brains are constantly changing and learning how to process new information. The history of early childhood education has come a long way. Currently early childhood professionals are setting standards and providing resources to male programs better. “This will improve early childhood program quality, enhance the professional development and working conditions of program staff, and to help families learn about and understand the need for high quality early childhood education” (NAEYC, 2015, P. 1).
