The survivor is a reality television show that portraits a number of groups, that are forced to survive on an island. By means of challenges, teams can win tools that attribute to survival. The teams are formed by means of their social status, that are referred to tribes, the tribes being white collar, blue collar and no collar. The episode of choice was Survivor: Worlds Apart, ‘It Will Be My Revenge’ (season 30, episode 2), and the chosen group is “No Collar”. The No Collar group consists of people who are unemployed, yet educated. In the chosen episode, the team is composed of six people, three men (Vince, Joe, Will) and three women (Nina, Hali, Jenn). In this specific episode the No Collar team loses the elimination challenge and therefore votes one member out. The show is entirely enacted in the secluded wilderness of the coastal town San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua, which causes the circumstances that are to be dealt with. All contestants are deprived of luxuries of everyday life and are forced to use primal tactics to satisfy physiological needs. Will’s weaknesses, what can be seen in the episode’s challenge, are his overweight and poor physical health. While handling a ball in the water, these factors worked to his disadvantage, slowing down the team. Due to this failure the team was sent to “Tribal Council” to eliminate one of the members, which decreased their chances of survival of the group as a whole. Furthermore, we all paid attention to the fact that neither Hali nor Jenn have distinguishable characteristics, or memorable personalities.
