1. Increasing the router memory to infinite cannot control the congestion. Agree or disagree? Elaborate briefly (60-100 words)

I agree with the above statement because in the end it is the physical properties of the the medium on which you are transmitting that ultimately decides how much total traffic , congested or not. Therefore a router could have infinite memory, but its memory would have more congestion control capacity then the physical medium would allow to put through the medium. So for this reason I Agree with the above statement.

When do we use Upward Multiplexing and Downward Multiplexing?

The upward multiplexing multiple connections are multiplexed into one Network connection. Download multiplexing is when you have a situation where you need high bandwidth and so you open of many different network connections to push the data. So the data is brought into the downward Multiplexor and then broadcast out on many network connections. You use upward multiplexing when you only have one network connection and use downward multiplexing when you need to use many network connections to move the data.(R7)

7. Suppose we design a reliable transport protocol that use only NAKs as feedback from receiver to sender:

If the data rate is low (sender sends packets infrequently),is a NAK-only protocol better than a ACK-based protocol? Why?

- The ACK protocol is better when the data rate is low because you can send an acknowledgement that you actually receive the packet and not congest the network. This Would ensure consistency in the data. (R8)

-Fragmentation is a way of breaking up the data in do the packet size of a supported by the given Network that is going to be transmitted on. This Important in the transport layer because it's that layer that would break that pack it up and also put it back together. (R11)
