In activity one it asks us to install the Active Directory Domain Service Role and then create a new forest. I created the domain of harperstudenthome.com and placed the new forest in there. While configuring the new forest I noticed starting from scratch it will take some time setting up the Active Directory Domain Services. While installing this Role the server required that it be promoted. By promoting the server it needed to be restarted for changes to take effect. If I would ever need to add such role or promote a server to this I would make sure it was done during evening hours, scheduled maintance, or over a holiday. By doing it during those times would reduce the down time and won’t affect the users and daily operations. …show more content…
This does exactly what its name says. You can organize users. This can be used in an organization or even in a school setting. By applying this into a High School you can add users to the Organizational Unit in which the year they graduate. Then once they graduate you can just delete the whole Organization Unit and not have to delete the individual user. This is also another way to control how much access a user has to the network to addition of what we have learned in previous lessons.

Activity four asks us to Delegate Control of the Organizational Units we have created in activity three. Upon going through the wizard you can select Users, Computers, or Groups. I choose the use of Guests. I told it to Delegate the tasks of “Reset user passwords and force password change at next login” along with “Read all user information” for this activity. I could apply this if I was head of an IT department and only wanted certain users or groups within the department to perform certain tasks and
