Major Hardware components for Servers and Clients’ machines

Motherboard

The motherboard is the main circuit board of the whole system with every single hardware component having to connect to it in some way. Without the motherboard the system would not be able to work.

The processor is seen as the brains of the computer. The processor or CPU (Central Processing Unit) interprets and executes program instructions sent by the RAM. Having an active network connection is one of the fundamental features to have when setting up a client/server network system. Many servers have network adapter built in to the motherboard, your motherboard does not then you must purchase a network card. A network card will allow the user to connect to a network. Network cards provide a full time, dedicated connection to the network.

Power Supply

A power supply is essential for powering all the components connected to each other through the motherboard. Depending on the power requirements of the other components the wattage of the power supply may need be acceptable or need to be increased.
