Grouping of IT resources such as servers , databases ,networking and communication devices in close with each other rather than having them geographically dispersed. Advantages of Data Center :- 1. It allows for power sharing 2. Higher efficiency in usage shared IT resources 3. Improved accessibility for IT personnel(less management team is required) 4.1.1 Different Types of Infrastructures in a Data Center
1. Building Infrastructure:- “BUILDING SYSTEM” electrical system, fire suppression, lightning, security etc.
2. Data Center Infrastructure:- power, cooling racks, management, physical security, fire suppression etc.

4.1.2 Computing Hardware
In data centers large number of standardized commodity servers that have large computing power and storage capacity ,done the most of heavy processing/computing.
Components and technologies that are used inside the data center for building modular servers.
I. Rack mounted server:- It is a design for servers which is composed of standardized Racks. In each rack one server disk is inserted. There could be 20-25 server disks inserted in each rack mounted server. The racks are interconnected for power, Network and internal cooling.
II. Rack mounted server and Data centers supports Removal of Hot swappable components. It also supports scaling and replacement of components such as hard disks ,power supplies and storage cards.
III. Hardware processing Architectures such as Up 8086-32bits ,Up 8086 -64bits and etc. all are supported inside the data centers.
IV. Virtualization

4.1.3 Storage Hardware
Inside the data centers ,there is huge amount of data is stored. Hard disks and tape libraries are basically the main components of storage hardware.

Storage area network(SAN):-It is the direct connection between storage containers and heterogeneous servers. It is a dedicated network and generally connected with the help fibre channel(Fc) or fibre channel over Ethernet(FcoE). 3. Network attached storage(NAS):-It is basically a file server plus Storage devices which is connected to the network.It provides multiple clients on the networks with access to the Same file is the most important benefit of NAS devices. NAs is directly attached to the LAN/WAN.
