A web server is used for us to access the internet without this, the internet would fall apart and it would not work . A web server is what helps us to search and browse for the requested page. The way it works is we type in the website to our web browser it then sends a HTTP (Hyper Text Protocol ) request to the server , the server then searches for the data that we need , when the data is found it sends us back the requested HTTP page. For a website to be accessed the website itself must have a server so that we can visit the website. The way it works are in layers the TCP layer this is the higher layer it handles the data making it smaller and breaks all the information down into small packets before it is sent , so once it is sent over the internet and has been received at the correct address the TCP layer puts it all together again to make it into the original data from the start, but if it loses the data it will retransmitte until the data is completely all received.
