My best guess of Nursemaid's Elbow is that it was an injury sustained by a nurse while taking care of patients or a home caregiver who may not know proper techniques in moving a patient. Nursemaid's elbow actually is a dislocation of the elbow joint. Nursemaid's elbow is also sometimes referred to as "radial head subluxation" or "pulled elbow". This injury is seen in younger children up to age 6. Nursemaid's elbow can occur in an infant when they roll over onto the or a when a young child uses the hands to brace himself or herself during a fall. Other ways this injury occurs is when an adult catches a child by the hand to prevent a fall, lifts a child up by the hands or wrists, pulls a child's arm through a jacket or shirt sleeve, swings
