Nursing first started to interest me a few years ago when my grandpa started to get so sick he had to go to the hospital. I wanted to help take care of people and help them feel better like the nurses helped my grandpa. When considering a career in nursing, a person must carefully look into the responsibilities this will entail, the skills one must have to succeed, plus other important aspects such as working conditions, salary, and the future of the job; however just as important is to carefully seek out the institution of higher learning that will best prepare one for this profession such as The University of Texas at Austin. It will be satisfying knowing that you helped save a person's life or helped make someone feel better. Your work day can be very interesting and diverse since you may have a chance to take care of all types of patients. Nurses work in various patient care areas including labor and delivery, surgery, and the intensive care unit. No two days are the same, which can keep the job exciting. There are many different opportunities in the field. Direct patient care isn’t the only area to work in as a nurse can work in. there are also discharge planning, case management, and education. Hospitals are also not the only industry that employ nurses. Insurance companies, law firms, and schools also hire …show more content…
The school has many majors such as engineering, social sciences, business, management and much more. You also get the chance to meet different types of people since the school is very diverse. The people are also very friendly so it’s easy to make friends. The school also provides everything a student may need like 24-hour access study areas, libraries all over campus, gyms, pools, and sport courts. Many students who attend or have attended say the school is a wonderful four year experience and recommend the school the others. The location of school makes it even better. To start with Austin is beautiful they have international renowned music, film, and art scene.
