Nurses are a key members of your child’s multidisplinary team. The nurse’s role may vary depending on the medical setting and the type of care your child is receiving. Sleep Enhancement - During treatment for medulloblastoma it is important the your child sleeps the appropriate amount for their age, and feels well rested. Rest has been proven to improve outcomes and decrease symptoms from all forms of treatment (2). To do this the nurse will:
Limit distractions and provide an environment appropriate for rest. The nurse is there to help your child rest appropriately. The nurse will monitor your child's rest to ensure they are sleeping the proper amount (2).
