Nutrition and Fitness Goals
Melissa Dominguez
Capella University

Before I started my fitness journey I tipped the scales at 270lbs. In the wake of having two lovely sons, my wellbeing was not in a decent place and my vitality was low. I couldn't stand the sentiment continually being drained from just taking my boys to the park or the thought that I can’t take them to a place like the circus because I wasn’t sure if I fit in the seat and then my garments didn’t fit and I am having to spend money on new clothes only to grow out of them again in a few months.
Being just 26 and not having the physical quality to do the most straightforward exercises, conveyed me to the acknowledgment that something should have been done a long time ago. I began working out four months prior and I now weigh 252lbs and my objective is to get down to 185lbs preceding my 6 years anniversary in June. I additionally am working on tightening the skin all through my body. I can concede that I contributed to my weight gain was due to not exercising and poor dietary patterns. So I need to eat small portions, foods that are more beneficial to my health and have more self control to avoid those unhealthy foods that hinder me from achieving my wellness and objective.
The most effective method to Accomplish Each Goal
My initial step into achieving my objective weight of 185lbs is to work out daily. My job has a professional trainer come in Monday- Thursday for an hour for anyone interested in working out. I have joined this work out class and each day we focus on different areas of the body. I also joined my local
YMCA and exercise after work every Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for 1hour and 30 minutes. On the weekends I now go for a strolling in the park with my boys for a minimum of an hour. Furthermore the goals I put in place for my nutritious changes, I cut out my most loved sodas and coffees. I use to love eating fried foods; for example fried desserts, wings, pork, chicken and so forth. I mean anything that is high in sugar and anything fried has been removed from eating regimen.
The first month was the hardest, but whenever I feel myself starting to give in I push myself by thinking about my sons and they put me right back on track on reaching my goals. I can't explain how hard its was to stay working out, the sore muscles is very hard to deal with after a intense work out, but what seems to help me get through it is thinking that pain is a sign of good health and losing weight. I began to drink significantly more water. Before I didn’t drink any water unless it was the only thing available, I can proudly say in the last 4 months I drink 6 cups of water a day. In the long run, I will achieve my objective of drinking 8 cups a day but for now I think that I am making great progress.
Expected Results
If I continue with as much focus, determination and staying consistent on my exercise plan I will be able to meet my objective weight of 185lbs. I will begin to lose weight and stop by new garments; I will have plenty of energy to play with my children. I know my blood pressure will start to level out to a normal rate. Practicing these goals will offer more oxygen to circulate through my body, which will remove my dizzy spells and headaches. Eating more beneficial will keep me from destructive coronary illness and from becoming a diabetic. Drinking significantly more water will clean and hydrate my body from undesirable poisons. My overall health will only change for the better while I continue my goals..

Resources to Help Sustain Positive Changes
There are three ladies in my department that help motivate me to go to the gym class during the week, we all meet in the gym and help each other by teaming up and exercising or simply giving words of encouragement; In addition my husband works out with me in the evenings. We have come up with some great team exercises with incentives for example, for every push up I get a kiss. It’s sweet and it motivates us both. What my great support team I know I have the capacity to achieve my goal
weight.

Conceptualizing a Business

...Business-Lifestyle Fitness University of Phoenix-BUS/475 May 30, 2011 Susan Horvat Conceptualizing a Business-Lifestyle Fitness Throughout the history of human life, life expectancy averages have dramatically increased as we become more educated and aware of how to live longer. In the early 20th century, life expectancy has increased from 47.3 years of age to nearly 77 years of age in 2009 (Polan & Taylor, 2007). As we look at today’s awareness on health, most people are aware of early childhood vaccinations, government spending and debate on health care reform, and the growing debate on childhood obesity. The more we become concerned with the quality of life and prevention of many health diseases, life expectancy will continue to gradually increase. One popular approach to increasing awareness about healthy lifestyles includes the focus on maintaining a healthy eating lifestyle and living actively to ensure the human body is strong in every sense. More companies and businesses have started offering healthy alternatives to their product lines to remain competitive with the growing health awareness trends of most consumers. However, one aspect of healthy living which is just as important as healthy eating or awareness is the personal one-on-one guidance when concerning making the right food choices and fitness activities that individuals need. This industry has not been widely accepted or positively viewed as affordable and necessary. Lifestyle Fitness-Who We Are...

According to Koenig Wellness, “Wellness psychology is a way of responding to the challenges of life with positive expectancy and self-esteem, based on the awareness that our natural state is harmony and inner peace (Koenig, MD, 2011).” There are positive aspects of “thinking positive” about ones future. Nutrition and Fitness

...Nutrition and Fitness Adrienne Ferrara SCI 100 December 3, 2012 Laura Peters Nutrition and Fitness Nutrition and physical exercise are essential to living a healthy lifestyle. Each is valuable but together provide the most benefits. Consuming the right amount of nutrients can improve your physical performance, and exercise can help our bodies to use these nutrients resourcefully. This paper will discuss my current fitness and nutritional habits, explain the dangers of obesity, and identify new fitness and nutritional habits that I can incorporate into my lifestyle. I would consider my current fitness to be above average. Ever since I was in grade school I’ve always participated in a team sport and as I grew older, I’ve made a continuous effort to exercise 4 to 5 times a week. As for my eating habits, I don’t always eat as well as I should, but I am putting in more effort now than ever before to make better nutritious decisions. Obesity is the result of an excessive high amount of body fat. BMI (Body Mass Index) does not directly measure body fat but relates with the amount of body fat. When determining obesity, it is vital to consider fat distribution throughout the body, and body fat deposits. Obesity is a complex health issue because there are many different factors that play a part in obesity (Donatelle, "Chapter 9, Managing Your Weight, Overweight or Obese?," 2010). Obese people have a higher chance of developing gallstones, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes...

Nutrition and Exercise

...Nutrition and Exercise Over a five week period I have kept tabs on my nutrition and physical activity. The findings are definitely interesting. My daily vitamin appeared to be safe. I take 65 mg of Iron every other day, one Women’s Daily Multivitamin, and 1,000 mcg of Biotin. Biotin is taken for healthy skin, nails and hair growth. According to Fitday (2011), the recommended dosage for this nutrient is 35 mcg/day and it is suggested that more than 200 mcg are taken although there is no medical evidence at this regarding high toxicity levels. Since I am anemic I take an iron supplement, but Fitday (2011) states I should only be taking 15 mg a day. If I am to continue with this high dose of iron I can eventually have tachycardia, damage to my heart, central nervous system, liver and kidneys (Cherif et al., 2010). Now the big one, the multi vitamin, it appears I have the advised daily amount of 18 mg of iron from this one tablet, as well as the full daily dosage of many other vitamins excluding calcium, vitamin K and niacin. Daily or a regular routine of physical activity is the best thing one can do for their body. It can assist with improving breathing, define muscle strength and tone, strengthen bone density, raise metabolism, assist with weight loss and reduce cancer risks (Cherif et al., 2010). I exercise, but not as much as I should. I do run but need to add more variety in my routine as well as increase my number of fitness days. My worst dietary habits are my obsession...
