Promote Communication in Health, Social Care or Children’s and Young People’s settings.
1.1 Identify the different reasons people communicate.
The different reasons people communicate are to express their concerns or fears about something.
People use communication to express needs for care, support, ask or give answers, when socialising with family and friends or developing relationship people communicate with each other. Communication is used to show support and reassure, to share ideas and experience.

1.2 Explain how communication affects relationships in the work setting.
Good communication in a work setting is very important as this help to build an effective working relationship between service users, their families, and care service provider. A good communicating …show more content…
As a carer I cannot disclose information about a service user without their consent and following the right procedure as this will in breach of their confidence. Disclosing personal, sensitive or a need to know information might create mistrust, tension and unsafe working relationship with the service user. When a carer has concerns about a service user, firstly get the consent of the service user if possible, however information can be passed to others that has a right or need to have that information in order to safeguard the wellbeing of the service user and others. For example information can be passed on to a manager if the carer feel that the service user might be a danger to themselves or others. Other carers can be given information to help them perform their duty properly. Depending on the type of information disclosing it might cause tension but the right protocol is followed then the outcome will

Most discussion has concerned issues of work and employment relations, where the new multinationals have interacted most directly with host societies. Two polar views have framed the debate. On the one hand, it has been argued that Japanese management systems cannot function effectively in the West ‐ or that if they can, the workforce suffers ‐ because they are culture‐bound, exploitative, and would be resisted by trades unions. Japanese practice has been interpreted as classic “Theory X” management. On the other hand, Japanese management systems are said to offer Western production workers new opportunities for teamwork, self‐expression and workplace democracy which should be grasped eagerly ‐ here Japan is interpreted as classic “Theory Y” management. The characteristic Western “either/or” analytical approach may have set up a false dichotomy. Adler’s (1993) study of the Toyota/GM joint venture NUMMI, in California, revealed that rigid management structures were combined with opportunities for worker participation in the “learning bureaucracy”.
