His killers were arrested and were put on trial but they were found not guilty for what they had done to him. Emmett’s mother saw what they had done to her child, and demanded that they would have an open cast sighting at the funeral so that everyone knew what had happened to her son.At first people ignored it like it was a normal thing but then they started to take the matter very seriously. James Dean killed in car accident by: Teseney Scales The actor James Dean, age 24, died in a car crash. James was driving to an auto rally in Salinas, California when he had crashed head-on into a 1950 Ford Tudor with his new Porsche 550 Spyder. Rebel Without a Cause was released today, which caused James Dean’s death to soar to cult status even though he was already a famous actor. James, who is forever frozen as the talented, misunderstood, rebellious youth, will always remain the symbol of teenage angst. Two hours after James Dean was pulled over by the police, Donald Turnupseed, the owner of the 1950 Ford, had pulled out in front of the Porsche. He was traveling east on Highway 466 and was tempting to turn left onto Highway 41. He had started to make his turn before he saw the roaring Porsche hurling towards him. Without time to turn the two cars crashed into each other head-on. The injuries of the victims in the accident were very critical. Turnupseed, owner of the Ford...

Weit gefehlt! An was liegt das? Die Antwort ist einfach! Wir messen das Magnesium dort, wo...

...Key Concepts of Organizational Design Allison Battles University of Phoenix / MMPBL 550 November 1, 2010 Professor Frederick Janson Key Concepts of Organizational Design Organizational design is an important aspect of organizational theory that designates many of the processes and the structure within an organization. It can shape the organization’s culture and help the organization to achieve its goals. Organizational design is also important to change management within the organization. The most important factor, though, is that it supports the company’s strategy for success. As many organizations are experiencing growth, the concepts of organizational design become more complex. The organizational designs and structures discussed here will simplify the terms in order for a clearer understanding of the concepts. Importance of Organizational Design Choices Organizational design is vital to an organization’s success. Part of developing a strategy for a company to achieve its goals is to create a dynamic organizational design that fits the company’s purpose, culture, and processes. “To optimize effectiveness, the form of organization must be matched to the purpose it seeks to achieve” (Autry, 1996, para. 7). In the most basic terms, the organizational design should be aligned with the organization’s strategies-the goals, the objectives, and the mission-and support the desired outcome. It is important that the organizational design of a company work...

...General Purpose: To persuade Specific Purpose: To persuade the audience to support the legalization of marijuana for medicinal purposes. Central Idea: People should have the option to choose their methods of medication; therefore, marijuana should be legalized for medicinal purposes. Introduction: ATTENTION A. How many of you take Advil for a headache? How many of you use a remedy passed down from your grandparents or parents to alleviate a cold? How many people do you know suffer from migraines or experience back aches and take prescription pain killers to ease their pain? Do you know a cancer patient suffering through the effects of chemotherapy? B. Today I’m going to attempt to persuade you to support, by voting for the measures and propositions that allow the legal access of cannabis or marijuana for medicinal purposes. C. I have done several college assignments as well as become a member of Americans for Safe Access, the largest organization of patients, medical professionals, scientists and concerned citizens promoting safe and legal access to cannabis. I, unfortunately, also know several women who have had breast cancer and suffered through excruciating chemotherapy treatments. D. I’m going to discuss the classification of marijuana and compare it to other drugs in its schedule, let you know what you can do to give people the legal choice of using this method/type of medication, and tell you about some of the benefits of the legalization of cannabis...

Onwukab Civil Engineering, Federal University of Technology, P.M.B. 1526, Owerri, Nigeria. Project Management Technology, Federal University of Technology, P.M.B. 1526, Owerri, Nigeria. Received 30 March 2011; accepted 17 May 2011 a b Abstract The strength of concrete is a function of the proportions of the constituent materials, namely, cement, water, fine and coarse aggregates. The conventional methods used to determine the mix proportions that will yield the desired strength, are laborious, time consuming and expensive. In this paper, a mathematical method based on modified regression theory is formulated for the prediction of concrete strength. The model can prescribe all the mixes that will produce a desired strength of concrete. It can also predict the strength of concrete if the mix proportions are specified. The adequacy of the mathematical model is tested using statistical tools. Keywords: Concrete; Regression theory; Prediction; Mix ratios. 1. Introduction Concrete is a composite construction material consisting of water, cement, fine aggregate (sand) and coarse aggregate. Mix design of concrete is a means of producing the most economical and durable concrete that meet with certain properties...

...| WHIRLPOOL CORPORATION GLOBAL PROCUREMENT | Cost Analysis | | | | | Whirlpool is the world’s largest producer and marketer of small and large home appliances such as mixers, food processors, washing machines, refrigerators, air conditioners, etc. Whirlpool also has a long standing relationship with Sears, which sells Whirlpool products under the brand name Kenmore. In addition to its North American presence (both manufacturing and sales), Whirlpool also has a strong presence in Mexico, and Europe. Being the largest producer in the world has helped Whirlpool to compete on lower costs through economies of scale and through its Global Procurement Organization (GPO). In addition, its large networks also help in distribution, marketing, and ultimately in its sales. Another key factor how it competes is through its relationships with customers such as Sears. Our cost model was based on the “Principles of Cost Modeling” from the article Competitive Cost-Analysis: Cost-Driver Framework by Timothy Laseter, et al. Based on the article, we continuously pondered over not only the cost elements, but also the cost drivers, so as to get a better picture and to arrive at a more accurate analysis. To capture all the elements, we constructed our own template, so that we could customize it to Whirlpool, so as to capture as many cost drivers as possible. In addition, to ensure that we accounted for all parts contributing to the actual cost, we thought about total cost of ownership...
