Human of the real world society are extremely in denial of everything, in Anthem written by Ayn Rand they don’t listen to the higher authority, the people in the Anthem society have never been exposed to rule breakers. The only rule breaker this generation has witnessed was burned in front of everyone in the town. They have all been brainwashed to follow rules, and if they break the rules they will be punished. The people of Anthem have accepted a life of obedience and drudgery. This society is made to not be broken and will do is needed to be done to stop any outbreaks. Sadly for the Council of Scholars every society has people who are rebellious and unwilling to act as they want

When hearing the word obedience; one might think of a dog, so comparing the people in the Anthem society to an animal is not right. But obviously the Council of Scholars does not care because they think they have all of them wrapped around their finger, and they do but they will have some . Equality was obedient until he realized the Council of Scholars was wrong and The Unmentionable Time were real and better. When he found that light bulb that was invented from The Unmentionable Time, he realized that is was better than candle light. Obedience defines what the people of Anthem do not know or understand, but they are prone to it and it does not seem to be changing anytime soon. They have been exposed to this kind of behavior, but all the men who opposed the Council have been killed in front of everyone in the
