Obsessed was a very uplifting book and it had depressing parts too, as most books do. This book was special because it had traits that most authors don’t put into their books. These traits were amazing characterization and how the characters changed throughout the book. The setting was also a big part in this book because the characters changed once they left a place where they felt a sense of stability. Last, the author Allison Britz, put a lot of pressure scenes because of how her life was when she was younger. She put into perspective of her childhood and how she handled things. I think she wrote this book because she wanted everyone to realize once things get bad in life they always seem to work out in the end no matter what. I would recommend this book to anyone who like romance or high school drama. To begin with, Joe Thompson is the high school jock and the “cool kid”. They do school projects together and have fun outside of school. All of the other kids in the school don’t necessarily like Allison because she’s a nerd. She takes her school work very seriously because she wants a very bright future. Once all of these dreams start to happen she starts to change and her school is not her top priority. Before the dreams she was the type of kid who tried their hardest no matter what got in the way. For instance, “ I am the girl who other students don’t t want in their classes. Brimming with anecdotes and opinions, I am the girl who raises her hand when the teacher asks ‘Are there any questions?” (25). She was the type of girl who didn’t care what people thought of her.
