Quote: "Always do your best. What you plant now, you will harvest later."

Og Mandino had lost his mother at a tough time in his life. Because of this, he passed on going to college and decided to join the Army. After serving time during World War II, he miraculously found a job as an insurance salesmen. With this job, he found himself in bars during later hours of the day. This turned him into an alcoholic. He could not keep a steady job, which, in turn, led to his wife and first child leaving him. Suicidal, Og went to a library in an attempt to read anything to get his spirits up. This became a trend as Og began reading tirelessly. He eventually began writing his own motivational books and became a speaker. I believe Og's inspiration for this quote came when he was beginning to write his books on motivation. "He read hundreds of books that dealt with success, a pastime that helped him alleviate his alcoholism. It was in a library in Concord, New Hampshire, where he found W. Clement Stone's classic, Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude, a book that changed Og for the better. Og eventually became a successful writer and speaker." The countless number of books Og read is what I believe inspired him to say this quote.

I believe the message of the quote is to never give less than 100% effort in life because what you do now will eventually reflect what your life is like in the future. What Og meant is that the choices we make everyday will affect us later and that is why we must always do our best, because our future is what is at stake. I relate to this quote to my school work. I must always do my best, because what I do now, will affect what college I get into, what people I meet, what job I eventually end up with. Get the hard work out of the way first. The planting is the hard part, I want to enjoy the harvest.

Mandino's Failure

...“Failure will never overtake me if my determination to succeed is strong enough”- Og Mandino. This is a very deep quote that has an idea that I strongly agree with. The quote means that even if you fail, do not give up because then you are letting go of something have worked on. In Mandino’s point of view, even if he fails he will not give up because of his determination. Persevering is very is essential for all people because of how important it is. What if you had an almost perfect cure for cancer but, you stop because you failed. That could’ve saved the lives of millions. Firstly, one reason why this quote is important is because everybody can relate and/or follow it. Most people will take this as a direction to follow because it tells...

Rainsford In Richard Connell's The Most Dangerous Game

...“Obstacles are necessary for success because as in all careers of importance, victory comes only after many struggles and countless defeats.” by Og Mandino.“The Most Dangerous Game” is a short story written by Richard Connell, which takes place after World War II on an abandoned island. The story talks about how Rainsford makes his way through General Zaroff's playground, narrowly escaping death at every corner. General Zaroff forces Rainsford into a game of murder that ends in Zaroff’s death. Throughout the story, Rainsford's beliefs, confidence, and perspective morphs and the story progresses, which makes him a dynamic character. The last obstacle that Rainsford overcome was the environment, which was the main cause of Rainsford being trapped on General Zaroff’s island, and it was also the reason why he eventually won the “ Most Dangerous Game”. The first obstacle that Rainsford overcame was the fear of being killed by General Zaroff....

Life Plan

...The Plan Faith I believe in God. I believe that He is my Heavenly Father and that He ultimately wants me to be happy. I will make Him and His plan for me a priority in my life. This will be done through prayer to Him. I will do this in the morning and in the evening. I will go to Him with my thanks, questions, and concerns. I will do this so that I can better feel His love and influence in my life. I will do this because my life has been truly blessed, and I want to express my gratitude. This will allow me to recognize the many ways I have been blessed. I will also dedicate at least a portion of my morning to reading and pondering the scriptures. I will do this to better understand His character and His plan. 1. Pray at least every morning and evening. 2. Read scriptures daily. Create and follow study plans. 3. Attend the temple once a week. 4. Complete church assignments. Including but not limited to home teaching. My spiritual plan is discussed more in depth in my spiritual plan document. Family & Home I want to be a dedicated and loyal husband. I am currently seeking my future spouse and wish to marry a woman who has a testimony in the gospel of Jesus Christ. I want to regularly attend the temple with her. Together we will hold a Family Home Evening every Monday. This time will be used to build family unity through instruction, games and simple time spent together. In order to do this I will focus on being honest and developing a greater interest in the lives of...

Ihow to Sale

...The Greatest Salesman in the World By Og Mandino Only principles endure and these I now possess, for the laws that will lead me to greatness are contained in the words of these scrolls. Principle #1 – Failure will never overtake me if my determination to succeed is strong enough. Keep it always in mind and you will overcome seemingly impossible obstacles that are certain to confront you as they do everyone with ambition. Never feel shame for trying and failing for he who has never failed is he who has never tried. Principle #2 – I will form good habits and become their slave. If I must be a slave to habit let me be a slave to good habits. My bad habits must be destroyed and new furrows prepared for good seed. Each principle in these scrolls will drive a bad habit from my life and replace it with one which brings me closer to success. For it is another of nature’s laws that only a habit can subdue another habit. As I repeat the words daily contained in these scrolls they will soon become a part of my active mind. Eventually I will find myself reacting to all situations which confront me as I was commanded in the scrolls to react. Thus a new and good habit is born. Principle #3 – I will greet this day with love in my heart. Love is the greatest secret of success in all ventures. I will laud my enemies and they will become my friends; I will encourage my friends and they will become my brothers. Always will I dig for reasons to applaud; never will I scratch for excuses...

Padre Rico Padre Pobre
