...One of the things that I love about God’s word the most is that it is so timeless. Perhaps the reason is, that even though the world changes around us constantly, human nature tends to remain much the same. This evening, I would like to show you what I mean, as we look at a story in God’s word. John 9 Can you imagine what it must be like to be blind? This man was born that way. How do you begin to describe to a blind man, the simple things we take for granted? How do you begin to describe the colors of autumn leaves? How do you describe the yellow buttercups or the white dogwood blossoms or redbuds in the spring? How do you begin to paint a baby blue sky with white fluffy clouds in the mind of someone who has never seen the light of day? How do you describe to him what his parents look like or what he looks like? I wonder, how many times did this young man sit and wonder, “oh, if only I could see?” If only I could be like everyone else. If only I did not have to rely on others to bring me down town where I have to sit and beg. If only I could see so that I could get a job. If only….. Imagine? I’m sorry, but I cannot. In this story that we have just read, is a man, just like that. He is blind and has always been. Along comes this man, the Son of God, who gives to him the one thing that he has never had, his eyesight. Immediately, some of the folks around town notice. Isn’t this the beggar who was blind? Some said, “yes, this is him”. Others...

...Analytical essay of One More Thing This essay is going to focus on different things in relation to the minimalistic short story written by Raymond Carver; at first the setting, and later the role the iceberg-theory plays. The story begins in medias res as we immediately jumps into the action "L.D.'s wife, Maxine, told him to get out the night she came home from work and found L.D. drunk again and being abusive to Rae". Most of the setting descriptions happens at first, when we are shortly introduced to the characters and the plot. We are introduced to L.D., who is found drunk again by his wife Maxine, as he was being abusive towards their daughter Rae. The whole story takes place in their home, from where L.D. is being kicked out of by Maxine. At first L.D. isn't interested in moving out and leaving the house, but after he had thrown a glass of pickles out of window and the family had threatened to call the police on him. Perhaps L.D. realizes it is the wiser decision to surrender, at least soon after he agrees to leave the house. L.D. is obviously angry by the decision his family made for him, and this gives some indication towards the fact that L.D. doesn't want to leave his house, and his family behind. But as his family has proper cause to call the police, he is better off just leaving for now. Later he has picked his things and is about to leave the house. He says the house is a 'nuthouse' and that they will never see him again. Maxine said it's his fault that it...

...The Great Greek philosopher Socrates said -“Know Thyself”. According to Socrates one could not know anything without knowing oneself. This may be an old greek aphorism ,but its relevance is eternal. In a sense, we are what we are because we don’t know who we are. However life’s book is hard to understand. Its like the eyelashes, they are so close to you that you can’t see them. But there is one way of seeing them, by looking in the mirror. Similarly in order to know oneself we need to sit down in a quiet corner, in solitude, mentally place a mirror before our self. A little bit of introspection like this, done time and again, can lead us a long way on the road to self discovery. Although I have just started my journey of self discovery, probably with my own colored glasses, this is my effort to share my journey so forth with you. As per the UN Report India has the largest youth population of 356 million ,10-24 year olds. In this mammoth population, it is not unusual to meet a youngster like me, in late teens, still confused about my career choice, my love choices. Unsure about my dreams and as to what I want from life. I read in biology that every individual possesses their own unique DNA sequence or genes, like fingerprints. This give them a unique identity. However apart from my biological uniqueness in this teeming population there are people around me –my family and friends –who think I am very special. So for reasons still unknown to me these people around me remind me that...

...first. Microsoft and VMware are competing to provide the virtual community with the best product. VMware is using the vSphere5 Enterprise Edition to combat the Windows Hyper-V3 Server 8, and does a very good job at that. Microsoft has taken huge steps in competition with VMware’s productivity and features. In many cases Microsoft has met VMware solutions and has possibly surpassed the competition, and at a more affordable price. However it is in VMware’s advantage that they have been well established in this area of expertise; however Windows is becoming the way of the future and is certainly one to bargain with. Microsoft Microsoft’s cloud computing solution helps customers meet their current and future IT challenges. The infrastructure of Microsoft cloud computing provides more choice and flexibility through options of either private or public cloud model depending on which one fits their requirements. Microsoft also offers comprehensive end-to-end management, and free cloud accelerator solutions with valuable out-of-box functionality. As result, Microsoft cloud computing helps companies increase how quickly they can respond to changes in their business environment and how effectively they can manage resources. At the same time, Microsoft cloud computing can help reduce management complexity and cost. ...Chrisreina, Smith Ms. Somin English 1A 27 March 2012 The Things My Mom Does To Annoy Me: I have always disliked being around people who are annoying but sometimes there’s no escaping. When it comes to my mother there is only so much I can take before she becomes annoying. Some of the habits my mom posses that annoys me the most is when she compares me to my cousin, or when she treats me like a child, and lastly when she talks during a movie. My mother always finds a way to annoy me by comparing me with my cousin. She always have to tell me how I should be more like my cousin, and how I should have went to a Four year university. One night while company was over for dinner she just couldn’t help herself, and started to brag about my cousin going to a Four year university and me choosing to go to a two year college. She also told them how my cousin doesn’t give her parents any trouble, and how she’s so perfect. The more she kept speaking about my cousin the more I became annoyed. I don’t understand how she doesn’t see that I get annoyed every time she brings up my cousin. I was so embarrassed. I know I should be use to her behavior, but I will always find myself getting annoyed. Not only does my mother compare me to my cousin, she also treats me like a child. Recently I went to the Catalina Islands for a week with some friends, and although I know how to take care of myself my mom still thinks I haven’t yet learned. The entire trip she kept calling me, reminding me...

...– the idea that animates his life, that guides his philanthropy, that keeps him late in his sleek book-lined office overlooking Lake Washington, outside Seattle – is the hacker's notion that the code for these problems can be rewritten, that errors can be fixed, that huge systems – whether it's Windows 8, global poverty or climate change – can be improved if you have the right tools and the right skills. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the philanthropic organization with a $36 billion endowment that he runs with his wife, is like a giant startup whose target market is human civilization. Personally, Gates has very little Master of the Universe swagger and, given the scale of his wealth, his possessions are modest: three houses, one plane, no yachts. He wears loafers and khakis and V-neck sweaters. He often needs a haircut. His glasses haven't changed much in 40 years. For fun, he attends bridge tournaments. He has former nuclear physicists helping cook up nutritional cookies to feed the developing world. ...Goods and Services In economics, need and want are either goods or services and which are sometimes called a commodity. People claims that goods are the things can touch such as pens, longyis, rice, book, as soon on and services are thing that people do for you, or you do for other people, which are the things you cannot touch such as education or healthcare. In economics, a good is a material that satisfies human wants and provides utility, for example, to a consumer making a purchase and a common distinction is made between 'goods' that are tangible property. Moreover, when people want to produce one goods, they need basically, 1. The name. 2. What it look like-pictures. 3. What it does. 4. The cost and why people should buy it. For example, if people produce shoes and the name of the shoes is Addias, which designs is very wonderful and people can use every season even though summer, it costs is 60$ and that brand is very grantee, therefore they should buy that kind of goods. Services are as important as goods and when one goods produce, goods is the first step and the second step is service, but service are things that people cannot touch. For example, when people go to the hospital or clinic, doctor or a medic examines does tests or indicate some medicine. In addition, when people buy a cup of tea in a teashop, they are not only buying tea, water and milk (goods). people are paying for the services of sitting in the teashop, of someone making the tea, bringing it to them...

...according to the dictionary is defined as, the One Supreme Being, the creator and ruler of the universe. But how is it that the person who is said to have started it all cannot be touched, or seen? But yet, people still say he is there. For me, God is miraculous, full of wonder, dictating, confusing, frustrating, mysterious, but most of all, unexplainable. God does and did many unexplainable and unfathomable things. Things that have been proven true, and said that they really did happen. Yet, there are still some people who do not believe, or want to believe that there could possibly be something or someone out there who can control everything that happens around us. Or that could control what our future holds. I am not one of those people. I am the type of person who believes fully that these things did happen, and I believe that the reason behind these happenings was God. Over the span of the universes existence, God has shown time and time again just how powerful he is. He created the heavens and the earth, night and day, man and woman. God is truly a majestic and wondrous being that no one will ever be able to fully describe. Even trying to describe a little bit of is a very, complicated and strenuous task. To me God is the one and only, the head hancho. The true meaning of existence lays in his hand, he is the judge and the jury. Yet, he can be your best friend when no one else is around, the easiest person to talk to, when no one else seems to understand. He is truly the answer...

...self-employed and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed them both. For the last six-plus years, I have been fortunate enough to work for one of the finest employers in my area. Fifteen years prior to that I took pride in owning several of the finest businesses in my area. We all need to make a living that makes us happy. Job satisfaction directly affects our entire lives in many ways. Based on a 40 hour work week, we spend almost twenty-four percent of our lives each week at what we do for a living. The National Sleep Foundation provides statistics that says that an average American sleep 6.7 hours per night. Taking this statistic and placing it in the equation and the percentage rises to a full 33%! One-third of our waking hours per week are dedicated to work. For many, working for the man suits them just fine. As well, many choose to pave their own road for a career. No matter what we do there is a sense of satisfaction that we all must experience in our careers. Having experienced both, I can say that there are inherent differences that divide the choice of, “Being THE MAN” versus “Working for THE MAN”. The following is a comparison based on my experiences alone. I have listed them from my most important to least. Perhaps they are shared by others but these are my views. TIME Being THE MAN: Upon start-up of owning your own business, your time is the most valuable thing that you must give to your business. The initial organization and presentation to the audience you are selling yourself...

...highschool and up to the present I was in a relationship. But one of my friend asked me to state my opinion regarding this topic. Well being single is really a big thing, it results from certain reasons like heartbreak, fear, family reasons and among others. But it doesn’t necessarily mean that your SAD and ALONE because I know there are lots of things that you need to be thankful because your not in a relationship. You have 100 % FREEDOM to do things that you want in life without considering that someone else might get upset with your decision. Usually when your single, you were able to uplift your personality. You can go whenever o wherever you want, you can talk to anyone and be with anyone, you can meet different people and live your life to the fullest. You can DEVELOP YOURSELF by finding your purpose and mission in this world. Nevertheless, if you are in a relationship you have to live with the situation that you always paved importance to your partner without much consideration to your wants. If you’re single right now, focused on your goals right away. Do things that will fulfill you as a person and drive the road of success. Because you have much time to do things on your own without anyone mingling your decisions. You are given thousand DOORS OF OPPORTUNITY to lots of things. I’ve once read that if you are open to one thing, something good will happen. Remember that being single is not really a bad thing, it may really be a step closer to the person that you will be...

...Important Things I have many important things in my life that I could not live without. From people I know, to places I visit, even the music I listen to all means something to me. The very first thing that comes to mind when someone asks me what is important to me are the people that are important to me. My sister Krista is by far the best sister I could ever ask for; if I need anything she would be the first person that I go to for help. For example one time I got kicked out of a party at 3am and Krista came to pick me up. She is always there to talk about my problems and help me out. Obviously like any other normal siblings we do argue a lot, but it never lasts for very long. Krista is by far my favourite family member. Another person in my life that is extremely important to me is my nephew Cole. He is one year old and is the cutest baby I have ever seen. Cole can cheer me up even when I am in the worst mood. I remember one time I was having the worst day and nothing seemed to go right. I was being rude to everybody and nothing could make me smile. When I got home from school my sister showed up for a surprise visit with Cole and I instantly got the biggest smile on my face. It is impossible for me to be in a bad mood around him. Another thing that comes to mind when I'm asked what is important to me are the material things. I could never live without my iPod; I have a different playlist of music for every type of mood I am in. Music makes me happy when I'm upset...

...Chapter I “How are you feeling now? Do you still ‘see’ those weird things?” “I am fine; for now. I just really hope that it’s working as intended to be.” “That’s good, you’ll be up and well again in no time. Don’t worry - you’ll get used to those implants soon.” “I really do hope so…” The pale girl was still uneasy despite what the physician said, probably just because she was still recovering from her recent operation. It was just like what most patients that have undergone a major one would feel. Everything looked mundane and seemed in order. The room’stemperature regulated, spacious enough, and everything was tidied and regularly checked by sanitary personnel; the flowers on the vase on top of the table beside her bed was frequently changed by her visitors. However, there was something that kept bothering her periodically during her whole stay in the hospital while recovering. She could not describe nor explain it, but there is definitely something bothering her. “Well I’ll be going now Ms. Lilde. Make sure you call any of the nurses immediately if ever something happens again.” “Will do sir.” “I’ll see you again later for your next check-up.” The physician left the room after checking the condition of the girl’s eyes. She was still not allowed to remove the bandages and open her eyes yet but seeing that she’s in a steady rate of recovery, it would just be a short amount of time now before she could finally see the light again. Or so they...
