...athlete, most of them have a favorite athlete that they idolize. When children are very young it is important to encourage them to dream, and to pursue their passions. But there comes a time when it is not in the child’s best interest to mislead them into thinking they actually have a chance at becoming a pro athlete. According to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (2013), only 2% of college athletes are talented enough to play at the professional level. Logically thinking, this means that 98% of student athletes should be preparing themselves in college with a back-up plan for life after collegiate sports, right? Unfortunately, this is not the case. In fact, some people actually support the idea that student athletes should be able to major in the sport they play, and not study for a major that would be more beneficial to them in life. Student athletes that enter college directly after high school lack life experience, and they need guidance when making such decisions that will impact their life so dramatically. It is in these times when we should push students to their limits in order to make them grow to be the best they can be, not let them take the path of least resistance and settle for mediocrity. Allowing student athletes to choose their sport as a major may be the obvious choice for some, but doing so would actually hurt them instead of benefitting them. If we truly care about the futures of student athletes we will encourage them to prepare for life...

...century, not one of them was able to achieve first world status over the next one hundred years. Why was this so? Concentrate on one country in your analysis. Latin America is the vast continent with three distinctive regions of Central America, South America and the Caribbean coast, and is composed of 33 republic countries varying in terms of population size from over 19 million Brazilians to 11 thousand citizens of Grenada. The ethnic make-up of modern Latin America comprises a variety of racial and ethnic groups such as Europe, Africa, Asia and American-Indians, all of whose root is based in 4 different continents. The notable physical geography is the range of Andes Mountains that are long narrow backbone of the continent from Venezuela through Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and on into Chile, and cut off the east coastline and the west inland areas. The other features are the Amazon and rivers, huge tropical rain forest, and lastly, an abundance of natural resources as well as vast hectares of farmland. These geography features are an important factor that hampered economic growth due to difficulties in public transit and transportation between regions, hindrance of social and political unity, and therefore, unable to achieve a formation of large unitary state, like North America, that led to separation into large and small 30 countries. To comprehend Latin America’s struggle to achieve the first world status following their political independence, one must have a look...

...Athens and Forest Reading through A Midsummer Night’s Dream, written by William Shakespeare, it is easy to find out that the play can be separated by two sides generally. One of them is near world, represents complexity, statutory and fact. The other one is mystical kingdom, represents simplicity, freedom and dream. William Shakespeare uses antithesis to point out the differences from near world and mystical kingdom. The first thing, there are some differences in the complexity of people’s life. Athens, in the other words near world, wedding is a complicated ceremony. In ancient Athens, wedding ceremonies started after dark. Her family followed the chariot on foot, carrying the gifts. Friends of the bride and groom lit the way, carrying torches and playing music to scare away evil spirits (Unknown). Especially for the royalties, they usually hire hundreds of people to ready the performances for their wedding. Those multifarious ceremonies are used to entertainment and invocation. In addition, civility is very important and complexity. Talking with people who have higher rank, they have to use many humble words to show their respect. Beside near world, mystical kingdom does not have that much propriety. Spirits do not need many ways to disport. They are so simply that even a mirror can make them happy. William Shakespeare also points out the second difference in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which is legal system. In Athens, people have laws to limit women’s right. Women have...

...times of need and provide full support when you lose confidence in yourself. However, every friend is not the same type. One might have more close friends than acquiantenaces, while others might have more acquaintenaces than close friends, but either way, majority of people that develop great friendships either fall into one of the categories, or even each of the three categories: best friends, close friends, and acquaintences. Every person has a best friend, if not more. They are your absolute closest friends in ife, and you wouldn't give them up for anyone else. This kind of friend is your nonromantic soulmate. You do everything together and can talk about ingrown hairs without getting grossed out. These are the people that you will grow old with. Friends in this category are usually very few, ranging from 1 to 5, depending on your popularity. Furthermore, a best friend will be there to support us during our struggles and obstacles in life. You can talk to eachother about anything and everything, without feeling embarassed. Whether they are very opposite or similar, generally they never run out of things to talk about. They know eachother's secrets, because they can trust one another to keep them. In addition, they will give us honest feedback about anything, whether it is about an outfit that one has picked out for a particular day, or what one can and cannot do on a date. Best friends will give advice when it is necessary because not only do they care, but also...

...advantage. He promised them that the Holy Spirit who is the Comforter would come upon them. In the previous chapters Jesus, had breathed upon them and said “Receive the Holy Spirit” (John 20:22, KJV). I believe Jesus imparted to them from His own person and His own life. He promised that the Holy Spirit would be like Him. He would comfort them and be with them forever. In fact, the Holy Spirit would dwell in them. Jesus could only be with them physically but the Holy Spirit would be with and every one of them. Jesus was limited in that he could only be in one place at a time, but the Holy Spirit would go with each one of them to different places and different assignments. In the Old testament, the Holy Spirit would come and not stay or dwell among people. He would visit individuals per their assignment and would immediately depart once the assignment was complete. The disciples knew these facts from their study of the Old Testament. This was a difficult thing for...

They either do at night or early in the morning, where people do not catch them. But the ones that do catch them report hit. People should not get hit for something they did not do. Because a lot of policemen are abusive when they did not like what the other guy said or they did not like what they did. The policemen that are for police brutality should get fired and put in prison for life. Because no human should get beat by a cop. People should not be scared of a...

...640,000 homeless people. When it comes to the topic of homelessness, there are so many differing opinions. Some people believe the homeless are a burden and that they should all be killed, while others believe that it is our God given duty to help these people and do all we can for them. Then there are some who could care less. Personally, I believe in service, so we should obviously help them all, but only to a certain extent. This is my belief because we shouldn’t have to waste all of our own hard earned money on them, but we should still help. The three ways we could all do in order to really help decrease the number of homeless people living in the streets would be to change society’s attitude about them, give to them, and push for change. If we all do these three things, we can really make a change. To begin, changing one’s attitude regarding homeless people is a huge step. An attitude is important in any setting. School, work, home, one’s attitude means everything. When someone has a bad attitude, he or she generally treat everyone else worse and thus, don’t work as hard. With a good positive attitude, people are usually much more generous, caring, and determined. When it comes to changing ones attitude, start with one’s self, then begin to help society change their attitude about homeless people. In the world today, people have catagorized homeless people as lazy, violent, crazy, addicted criminals who choose homelessness. As stated by Leroy Skalstad in the article "The...

After making sure that I am set and God has given me the go ahead sign. Then I will go and suggest some ideas to the youth leaders that are already trying to pursue the job. Now lets say this church is a Tanzanian church. I am more that 90% sure that there is no church out there that is doing youth ministry that has to do with relational ministry. I know this is the most healthy way to have a ministry, so I will go up to them and tell them “what if” we tried to make this ministry more about the youth. This way I can slowly start to make them understand that youth ministry is not about the programs or the big numbers. It is about getting to know the youth and being their shoulder to lean on. One thing I have learned that is key to a...
