Organizational Impact of Suburban Express and Armalite
The following information entails two specific organizations that are listed for their contributions in the service and manufacturing industries. The first is Suburban Express for their services and the second is Armalite for their manufacturing, both organizations headquarters are located within Illinois.
Suburban Express bus service
Suburban Express bus service provides transport to six universities within the Midwest, primarily the Chicago area. Airport shuttle services are run by Suburban Express subsidiary company, Illini Shuttle. Over 200 Lawsuits have been have been filed by Suburban Express bus service against students for violations of Suburban Express terms of service. “As Suburban Express continues to file lawsuits against students for contract violations, Annie Mauro is one student who has not given up fighting against the company.” (Student legal services helps students fight suburban express lawsuits, 2015) Mauro tried to board a Suburban Express bus without a printed ticket and was turned away. Mauro parched another ticket and got on the next bus but contacted Suburban Express for a refund on the first ticket, Suburban Express never contacted Mauro back. Mauro contacted her Credit Card Company and disputer the ticket and had the charges reversed, Suburban Express bus service filled a lawsuit against Mauro. Another example is the lawsuit against Jeremy Leval, a University alumnus. “The lawsuit alleges that Leval violated the company's terms of services, which, at the time, stated that passengers agree to pay $500 if a passenger or someone with a passenger interferes with or delays the departure of the bus in any way.”(Suburban express lawsuits reappear in Cook County, 2014) Suburban Express bus service uses an online service to book and dispense ride service tickets for destinations. The ticket service is outlined within Suburban Express bus service terms of service along with penalties for holding up the Suburban Express bus service for any reason. Suburban Express bus service is a great resource for students but needs more innovative way of ticket service and control of maintaining transit schedules.
Suburban Express new strategy
Suburban Express is behind in technology that would help with their service goals. As companies as UBER are using smartphone apps to track and add a layer of control within their service. Suburban Express can take the online ticket purchasing to the next level and introduce a smartphone app that would free the customers from having to always print a ticket. The app would also give real time account of boarding of any Suburban Express bus service so if there is a holding up of the Suburban Express bus service for any reason it is logged within the app.
Armalite Manufacturing
ArmaLite manufacturing was founded in the beginning of the 1950’ as a small arms engineering company and has made a big impact on the arm forces and manufacturing of small arms. With Eugene Stoner as chief design engineer, the ArmaLite Company is credited with first survival rifle being adopted by the U.S. Air Force. With other ideas as the AR-10 and the AR-15, companies such as Colt manufacturing saw the invitation and jumped on a licensing agreement with ArmaLite manufacturing. By the 1960’s the AR-15 was in wide sue in the US Air Force, Special Forces in Vietnam and as the Army's main combat rifle. As of 2014 “ArmaLite is now offering law enforcement officers, first responders and members of the military (active and retired) a more affordable option for purchasing firearms as part of the company's Patriot Program. In announcing the program ArmaLite officials said, our goal is to get you that rifle you've been waiting for, at a price you can afford. You have served us and now it is time for us to give back."(ArmaLite announces patriot program, 2014)
Armalite Manufacturing’s new strategy
As AmaLite has always been in the forerunning of small arms innovation it lacks in marketing creativity. As many law officers, active and retired military member have no notice of such programs as ArmaLite’s Patriot Program, the Armalite loses valuable opportunities for sales. Placing innovative and creative ads within military viewed websites such as Military.com would increase the public’s notice. Such site are tailored to law officers, active and retired military member, thus promoting the ArmaLite Patriot Program within the intended genre.
