Discuss the Organizational Structure and this might have helped the project?

The organizational structure helped the project tremendously, due to the fact that the project was led in a hybrid organizational structure in which the necessary resources were allocated from the view point of need. Although the Organizational structure is set up as a functional, the understanding of the nature of the business in which most of the products are implemented as a projects creates a need for matching resources with management. The Project manager has a full control over the process of implementation of projects, and even though the team is assigned to him and he holds them for the duration of the project, it has no influence form the operational managers on the performance of his/ her team members. Having the ability to control and manage the performance of his team, the Project manager is the one that is responsible for evaluation of the team members even though the team members are under his/her control for a certain period of time.
It does, however, create a dual reporting standard for the team members. They are responsible to report not only to the project manager, but also to their operational manager, which of course creates duality in standards for evaluation purposes. This duality is resolved by understanding between the project and operational manger that the standards that the employee is going to be evaluated needs to be on the success of the implementation of the project for the duration of the project, and for the rest of the time by the operational manager. Due to the fact that majority of the projects are short term, the management of the performance of a team member can be created as a collaborative evaluation of the project managers and the operational manager.
