Schools throughout the United States rely on school board policies and student handbooks whenever they need to make a decision regarding student’s consequences. However; in order to make any decision there is a process that has to be followed. According to the Osceola District Code of Student Conduct, students should be aware of the charges against him/her, have an opportunity to express his/her opinion, present any witnesses, and cannot be subject of excessive punishment. Any student accused of violating the code, has the right to due process. The students’ consequences will be determined depending on the nature of violation and severity of the behavior.
