What is Sepsis? Sepsis is the most common deadly diseases in the world. Sepsis is serious, often life-threatening illness that happens when an infection cause damage to your tissues and results in an overactive response from your body. Treatment for sepsis has to happen fast. Doctors and Nurses have to work together to treat it very quickly in order to offer the patient the best chance at recovery. Treatment may be Oxygen if needed, Bloodwork to determine the cause of the illness. IV fluids (amount depends on the severity of symptoms). IV antibiotics, Urine output monitoring ( a catheter may be necessary for accurate measurement). Admission to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), if necessary.
