Title of Presentation: Do we need another “Hollywood” …in China?
Name of Presenter: Sandra Reiss
Description of Business Audience: CNN Newsgroup. This audience will include men and women reviewing news worthy reporting segments in which to broadcast or publish.
Introduction: Hello I’m Sandra Reiss this segment is being reported to you while on assignment in Quindao, China. What a beautiful day to be witnessing an incredible addition to the movie industry. The Oriental Movie Metropolis is underway and what an incredible site to replicate Hollywood!
Thesis Statement: China’s richest man and billionaire Wang Jianlin, is about to embark on the oriental movie business with plans to top the Hollywood Movie Industry. The Self-made real estate mogul is setting to introduce the world to a new Hollywood-like- theme called the “Oriental Movie Metropolis” and will include 20 fully equipped and engineered, state-of-the-art film studios, one more expensive and expansive then the other. (Larson, 2013)
The Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis will encompass a 3.7 million square meter of land. Much of the metropolis will focus on a film and television industrial park coupled with a notorious film museum that will includes an infamous celebrity wax museum. Some other elements to remark upon are a film exhibitions center, an extreme car show, a tourism city, luxury resort hotels, an immaculate yacht club, a seaside bar street, an international hospital and a global IMX research center…, according to Wanda. (China's richest man," 2013)

Who’s who in Hollywood flew in to attend the ground breaking ceremony in Quindao, China. Among those present were John Travolta, Catherine Zeta Jones, Leonardo Di Caprio and other A-list movie actors on September 22, 2013.

59 year old Wang Jianlin is the Founder and Chairman of Danlian Wanda Group. He is also the owner of AMC the second largest chain of movie theaters in North America. He had recently acquired AMC for whopping $2.2 billion dollars.

Wang Jianlin has been given honorary charity awards for his generous donations that would nclude the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. “Wang's fortune has been estimated at $22 billion. This month, Wanda announced it had donated $20 million to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for a new film museum” (Demick, 2013)

Among extravagant plans for development is an underwater theatre and a 100,000 square foot stage, as, these are said to be just the tip of the iceberg for Mr.Jianlin. He also plans to replicate a Disney Park as well. I think the idea of a Hollywood in China is an exciting one. Although, I feel, the original Hollywood can never be replaced.

I. Wang Jianlin is the founder and owner of Dalian Wanda Group A. China’s richest man 1. Self-made billionaire B. China’s growing movie industry 1. Plans to top Hollywood
II. The Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis's will include 20 studios A. First Permanent Underwater Movie stage 1. Largest celebrity wax museum B. 108,000 square-feet movie theatre stage 1. Imax Theatre in 3D
III. China’s film market would become the World’s biggest in five years A. Chinese market is growing very fast 1. Creating over 30,000 new jobs B. 20 fully equipped, state-of-the-art film studios 1. Hollywood 1,300-acre theme park 1. Hollywood is a “one of a kind” and a memorable place that can never truly be replaced. Other countries would like to emulate the Western World of ideas of attraction. Although flattering, no one can replace the historical and iconic memories collected in Hollywood, those will stay in Hollywood. However, extending Hollywood to another country will mean an addition to the historical attraction and many will be able to capitalize on this development. China will be building and acquiring their own memorable moments while capitalizing on the ideas already created. Jianlin’s vision will create over 30,000 new jobs in creating the Oriental Movie Metropolis and it’s extravagant features

With a billionaire wanting to play with his money, it’s no wonder he wants to compete with America. “Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve. Thoughts are things! And powerful things at that, when mixed with definiteness of purpose, and burning desire, can be translated into riches” – Napoleon Hill
(gbravo, 2009)

Visual Explanation:
Wang Jianlin is the richest man in China. He has plans for an $8.2 –billion project that will include and complete 20 movie and art studios and will introduce a permanent underwater stage for filming. (Bloomberg 2013)

I Dont Know

...My overall impression on my speech was better than I anticipated. I was very nervous and anxious to get the speech over. I could tell that in the pace of my speech. I was rushing through it and at times it was hard for me to keep track of my place on the outline. I thought I gave good eye contact and I stayed on the speech path, but I could have projected my voice more so that it would have been easier to hear and understand what I was saying. I felt that the delivery was good but I could have moved around more and gave more hand gestures to keep my speech alive. Although I didn’t feel it was a boring speech, I feel like I still tell showed how nervous I really was by the body chemistry I gave off. I prepared a lot for the speech and I went over the speech 3 times in front of the camera at home. I think this helped me a great deal because I had full knowledge of what my speech was about. Because I was nervous and rushing through my speech I often lost my place on my outline, but was able to wing it because I had practiced. It helped a lot that I did my speech on a topic that I am very familiar with and used to talking about. I also used the technique in the chapter that tells you that when you are nervous take a deep breath and use a focus word, mine was “Money”. This technique helped me a great deal in the beginning because I actually felt overwhelmed and on the verge of an anxiety attack. Using this technique calmed me down and made me able to deliver my speech. ...

Procedure for Writing a Term Paper

...PROCEDURE FOR WRITING A TERM PAPE A term (or research) paper is primarily a record of intelligent reading in several sources on a particular subject. The task of writing such is not as formidable as it seems if it is thought out in advance as a definite procedure with systematic perpetration. The procedure for writing such a report consists of the following steps: 1. Choosing a subject 2. Finding sources of materials 3. Gathering the notes 4. Outlining the paper 5. Writing the first draft 6. Editing the paper Now let's look at each of them. CHOOSING A SUBJECT Most good papers are built around questions. You can find subjects in any textbook. Simply take some part of the text that interest you and examine it carefully. Ask yourself the following things about it to see if you can locate a question to answer in your paper. Does it tell you all you might wish to learn about the subject? Are you sure it is accurate? Does the author make any assumptions that need examining? Can two of the more interesting sections in the text be shown to be interrelated in some useful way? Your paper is an attempt to write a well-organized answer to whatever question you decide upon, using facts for the purpose of proving (or at least supporting) your contention. The most common error made by students in choosing a subject for a term paper is to choose one that is too general. (The most specific subject will always have enough aspects to furnish a long paper, if you think...

Within my freshman year, I realized didn’t take the time to actually analyze my topic to where I could have understand it more. Therefore, it didn’t come out the way that I’ve envisioned it to be.
