OZTAG football is the latest craze in recreational sport that now has competitions running all over Australia, with the largest areas located in Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra.
It is a non-tackling game. Normal dimensions of the field are 70 metres x 50 metres. Two fields will fit on one rugby or soccer field. Eight players in each team are on the field at any one time. Players wear shorts with a Velcro patch on each side. A strip of cloth is attached to the Velcro, known as a tag. The object of the game is to score tries. Defenders prevent this by tagging the ball carrier, removing the tag from the shorts.
The first OZTAG competitions started in the summer of 1992/1993 at Cronulla with 28 teams and St George with 12 teams. Since then OZTAG has enjoyed an extremely rapid growth throughout the country. * GAME TIMES: Games will be at 6pm and 6:40pm only. Please note, game time requests cannot be guaranteed, so please only register your team if they are able to play at both times.
* COMP DETAILS: Summer comp will run for 12 weeks, followed by Semis & GFs
* COST: $110 per player, minimum payment of 10 players at registration. Due to an increase in team numbers, no team will be put into the competition without a minimum of 10 player payments and a completed Registration Form on or before Rego Night.
* BONUS POINTS: 3 bonus points to all teams paid in full before start of competition. TEAMS: Minimum 10 players, with no maximum. Mixed teams play with 4 men and 4 women on the field - maximum of 4 men on field at all times. Unlimited interchanges permitted.
