What is PCOS?
PCOS is called polycystic ovary syndrome, and it is a syndrome that affects a large number of women, whether they know it or not. What is PCOS exactly? It is a hormonal disorder that causes the ovaries to enlarge with small cysts on the outer edge. There is no known exact cause of this disorder, but most of the symptoms occur from hormone imbalances. With the excess of insulin that is produced, sometimes an increased production of androgens happens and causes trouble with ovulation. Androgens are hormones that influence sex-related characteristics, so having an excess amount that the ovaries produce can result in having acne, hirsutism (which is excess facial and body hair) and could even cause reproductive dysfunction. This …show more content…
Some or most of these symptoms are very closely related to having thyroid problems, especially with weight gain, fatigue and even infertility. Because of the hormone imbalance, both the female gonad (ovaries) and the thyroid are not producing the right amount of hormones to keep the body stabile. Which is why the hormone androgen is being produced much more than what the body …show more content…
One way to know for sure is to have an ultrasound testing to show the cysts on the ovaries and a laparoscopic test is another procedure that could be done to view the ovaries without any blockages such as fluid in the way, or inflamed tissues that can cause the ultrasound to not find as many or any cysts. A physical exam may work, but not would highly recommend as true diagnosis, because even if there is a lump that the doctor can feel, it could be anything from an infection on the site that was examined, or the patient might have been in too much pain to get the doctor fully examine the abdomen. But the signs and symptoms along with an attempt to do an examination can lead to believe that a patient might have PCOS. Then further testing will be done, like lab tests including hormone levels, blood sugar and insulin. Also, a hormone test can be used to determine and rule out if the symptoms are caused by a thyroid or gland

...What causes PCOS? PCOS is caused by an imbalance in the hormones (chemical messengers) in your brain and your ovaries. PCOS usually happens when a hormone called LH (from the pituitary gland) or levels of insulin (from the pancreas) are too high, which then causes the ovaries to make extra amounts of testosterone Resistance to insulin Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas to control the amount of sugar in the blood. It helps to move glucose from blood into cells, where it's broken down to produce energy. Insulin resistance means the body's tissues are resistant to the effects of insulin. The body therefore has to produce extra insulin to compensate. High levels of insulin cause the ovaries to produce too much testosterone, which interferes...

...to fully understand the research to be done and lastly the definition of terms for better comprehension of the study. Related Literature All computer scientists who have done work in or are interested in electronic voting seem to agree that online voting does not meet the requirements for public elections and that the current widely-deployed voting systems need improvement. Voting on the Internet has disadvantages based on the areas of secrecy and protection against coercion and/or vote selling. It's such a truly bad idea that there seems to be no credible academic effort to deploy it at all. The Kenyan General elections of 2007 brought national attention to problems with current methods of casting and counting votes in public elections. Most people believe that the current system should be changed; there is much disagreement on how such changes should be made.c really can't trust any code which we did not create ourselves. Therefore, they tend to be extremely suspicious of proprietary voting machines and their makers who insist that we should “just trust [them].” Neumann gives a list of suggestions for "generic voting criteria" which suggests that a voting system should be so hard to tamper with and so resistant to failure that no commercial system is likely to ever meet the requirements, and developing a suitable custom system would be extremely difficult and prohibitively expensive. A voting machine must produce human-readable hardcopy paper results, which can be verified...

Stanberry, S. A. (2013). GSA Wants You Describe the electronic submission process and the security measures present in this approach. Analyze the advantages over classic paper solicitations. According to Stanberry (2013), the electronic Subcontracting Reporting System (eSRS) is a web-based government-wide subcontracting system that allows electronic submission of applications from potential contractors. The system will manage the receiving, revisions and rejections of applications submitted through the eSRS system. The information received into the system can generate reports and analyses of subcontracting data in real-time. The eSRS process helps to create a green environment by reducing the paperwork submitted, killing less trees. It also reduces the errors, less time to process the applications, allows for electronic signatures, papers are not lost and it makes the process less time consuming on the subcontractors. The electronic Subcontracting Reporting System (eSRS) was implemented in October of 2005 and the Federal Government contractors are now required to use the subcontracting eSRS to submit their requirements with the exception of some Department of Defense (DoD) contracts. The electronic submission process upgraded to a new system...
