PTSD in Ambush by Tim O'Brien
“Ambush” by Tim O'Brien explains how the main character suffers from PTSD. This text talks his flashbacks from the war he was in that is causing PTSD. It also talks about his feelings about killing someone in the war and how he feels about telling his daughter he did so.
When he is remembering events from the war he remembers two things. He remembers exactly how the young man looked and the way his gun was pointing. He remembers thinking to himself “why should I kill this man if he's no threat to me” (O’Brien”)
The main character wishes that he didn't have to kill this man. He want to warn him instead of kill him because he sees him as not a threat. Looking back on it the author states that he regrets it because
