The Page Decision When I was three years old, my parents were divorced. A truly horrible time for any family, and mine was no exception. After about a decade of being married, they decided that they just weren't good for each other and wanted to end things before my brother and I grew up. It was a wise decision. I can't really remember a lot of what happened. (Victim mentality, mother changed, pitied.) Having a family as mixed up as mine just took a little getting used to over the years. A year after the divorce, my father remarried. My stepmother was a widow and already had three boys of her own....Quite the rough and tumble type. My stepmother was delighted to have a girl and did all the things a mother would dream of with a girl, except I didn't want any part of it. I was always very introverted and independent and didn't want any of what she wanted me to do. It remains mostly the same to this day. (Neilson relationship.) About six months after my father remarried, my mother did as well. It was all very weird to me, even at five years old. He's just so...old. My stepfather was nice, but just not in the mood for children (having seven of his own already prior to his divorce who were all older than me and my brother), and he automatically became responsible for two little ones. Good way to start of a marriage. (Negative household) All throughout my life up until my decision, it was always the same. I hated going to my dad's house and my stepbrothers hated when I came. I was never bullied, but rather shunted aside and left to my own devices. Though I always loved to be included, I was just fine because I entertained myself most of the time, anyway. The reason why I hated going over to my dad's house was because he was never there, and my stepmother was. Being a good mother, she tried to
