Web Page

...Being able to create a web page is an interesting development. In the beginning, researching which tutorials to use for this project seemed a little difficult for deciding which ones to use. There are numerous tutorials out there but only a few of them include specific tutorials and examples on how you can create a web page step by step. The main one that I used was a site named, Page Tutor which goes over each step on how to create your own page. I enjoyed using this site as my main resource to creating my web page because it gave specific examples as well as pictures revealing how the page will look on the internet with using certain codes. The process with creating my web page was not too difficult. In previous semesters, I’ve taken courses related to Web Development and Flash. They were interesting classes and while working on this project it brought back some of the things I’ve learned from those classes. A few things I had forgotten but overall I had fun while working on this web page. The coding was not too hard to grasp but it reminded me how easily you can make a mistake. Some of the mistakes I stumbled upon were not closing brackets or misspelling some of the coding on my page. This can take some time to realize what mistakes you’ve made which I spent quite some time looking over. This was an exciting and interesting project to work on. Hopefully in the future, I will continue with Web Development since it’s a stimulating...

Sds-Page

...SDS-PAGE also called sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis is a technique used to separate proteins only by their size. SDS or sodium dodecyl sulfate is a detergent used to denature the proteins; they will unfold and will not have any secondary, tertiary or quaternary structure. Proteins will have a negative charge and they will move down the gel by their molecular weight. PAGE or polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis is a polymer of the neurotoxin acrylamide and a cross-linking agent called bis-acrylamide. Usually APS and TEMED are used as catalysts for the process of cross-linking. There are two different settings of running the polyacrylamide gel, denaturing gel and non-denaturing gel or native gel. Denaturing gel consists of using urea or SDS to denature or unfold proteins and subsequently separate them by their molecular weight. A non-denaturing or native gel is used primarily to analyze the tertiary and quaternary structure of proteins; therefore they do not need to be unfolded. SDS-PAGE is essential in protein analysis in different fields such as forensic, biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular biology and genetics. The SDS-PAGE gel has to be poured in two parts. The first gel that is poured is the resolving gel. This type of gel consists of 3 to 30 % acrylamide thus possessing small pores and a pH of 8.8. The second gel is called the stacking gel and it is poured on top of the resolving gel. Stacking gel has 8 to 12 % acrylamide, therefore...

...Web page A web page or webpage is a document commonly written in HyperText Markup Language (HTML) that is accessible through the Internet or other network using a browser. A web page is accessed by entering a URL address and may contain text, graphics, and hyperlinks to other web pages and files. The page you are reading now is an example of a web page. HTML Developed by Tim Berners-Lee in 1990, HTML is short for HyperText Markup Language. HTML is used to create electronic documents (called pages) that are displayed on the World Wide Web. Each page contains a series of connections to other pages called hyperlinks. Every web page you see on the Internet is written using one version of HTML code or another. Hypertext A method of organizing and accessing text or other data, such as tables, presentational content and images, through the use of hyperlinks. Today, anyone who has been on the Internet is familiar with hypertext as it is in every link they click or tap. Hypertext is a concept that was mentioned in an Atlantic Monthly article in 1945 by Vannevar Bush, who talked about a photo-electric mechanical device called a Memex (short for memory extension) capable of creating and following links between documents on microfiche. This concept was later coined by Ted Nelson in 1965 who worked for and with Andries van Dam at Brown University. Andries, with the help of Ted and other Brown University students, created a Hypertext Editing System (HES). However, the first public display...

Larry Page

...http://larrypage.weebly.com/ Background You always hear stories about people who knew what they wanted to do with their life the second they started living. Larry Page was, and still is, one of those people. Since the tender age of 12, Page knew that one day he would start his own business. Of course, the elements contributing to this decision began at a much younger age than twelve. One would say that the love of inventing things ran in the family. Page's parents, Gloria and Carl Page, were two highly talented and intelligent computer science professors at the University of Michigan. While other six years olds were off playing sports and collecting baseball cards, Page took great interest in dismantling items in his house to "see how it worked". When asked about his childhood, Page commented "(there were) computers and Popular Science magazines everywhere". From this quote, it is quite evident that there was something unusual about Page from a very young age. Page moved on to become the first kid at his school to turn in an assignment from a word processor. One of his first inventions was an inkject printer made entirely from LEGO bricks. As Page grew older, he decided not to put his talent of inventing items to waste, and became interested in the world of business. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering from the University of State Michigan and a Master of Science in computer science from Stanford University. He graduated from both schools with honours...

Making a Page

...There are many different important things to consider when doing a web page. There are certain principles to which a person doing a web page has to follow to be considered a good page. A very important part of a web page is the page layout of the contents that the people will be seeing. The color of the page and the Font selection is very important to keep a web browser to stay in the page. Here are some of the changes that need to be done while making the web page better. First the page layout of the existing page is not a good way to have the page. First thing that needs to be changed is the company’s name. The name should not be put in the middle, because it does not look good there instead it should be on the top left corner of the page. Another thing that should be changed is the employee login. By having the selection there it makes it look really unprofessional and should be changed to be located on the navigational bar with the other selections. The reservation box located on top left corner will have to be moved towards the right side of the page the color for the box will have to be different. The actual color does not look good with the blue background, so it will have to be changed to light blue and the letters in black wish is a relaxing color, because the people that are looking for this web page is looking for a place to relax and have a nice and peaceful time. The color of the button “check rates” also will have to be changed to a different color. This color...

Lary Page

...Lawrence Page was born in East Lansing, Michigan on March 26th 1973 to the pioneering computer scientist Dr. Carl Page and his wife Gloria. Both his parents were computer science professors at Michigan State University when the field was still in its nascent stages. Page was educated at a Montessori school in Okemos, Michigan and graduated from East Lansing High School in 1991. His childhood was filled with curiosity and experimentation - frequently taken to dismantling things with his brother to see how they functioned. Given the family background it was hardly a surprise when Page went on to study for a Bachelor of Science in computer engineering at the University of Michigan. While at university, Page’s skills came to the fore, creating an inkjet printer out of LEGO and serving as a member of the 1993 solar car team. On top of his forays into invention, Page served as the president of the Beta Epsilon chapter of Eta Kappa Nu. Afterwards, he moved to California to study for a Masters in computer science at Stanford University. It was here that he started exploring the structure of the world wide web for a dissertation thesis. Page honed in on trying to work out how many pages linked to any given page, believing the information to be valuable for citations and academic publishing spheres. Sergey Brin, a fellow student, soon joined him on his project. They had already met in 1995 at an orientation for Ph.D candidates. Brin, a few years Page’s senior in the program...

...Management Lessons From Larry Page Posted May 16, 2013 by Ryan D Synopsis: After Google’s Larry Page’s announcement that he suffers from vocal chord paralysis, questions of management styles have arisen. How do you manage your company? Have you ever tried it any other way? We discuss. Google CEO Larry Page has trouble speaking at times. For years, people questioned if something was wrong as analysts found his tone not quite right during reporting calls. Two days ago, he clarified the situation for everyone, writing on Google+ that he suffers from vocal cord paralysis likely brought on by a virus damage from a cold. This has brought along a national conversation about how to lead while sick or suffering from an illness. In the post, Page writes: “And giving long monologues is more tedious for me and probably the audience. But overall over the last year there has been some improvement with people telling me they think I sound better. Vocal cord nerve issues can also affect your breathing, so my ability to exercise at peak aerobic capacity is somewhat reduced. That said, my friends still think I have way more stamina than them when we go kitesurfing! And Sergey says I’m probably a better CEO because I choose my words more carefully.” While it’s hard to say whether or not he’s better, it does bring up questions about management styles. Has his improved because of the inability to talk? Would that work for you? Everyone has their own way of managing the...

Some believe that it is easier to deal with troubles and concerns by them and that is not a good way of thinking because asking for help can help an individual. The web site that I have researched was the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (www.hhs.gov). I decided to use this website because it deals with many different people with various issues. The government has many different state funded programs and resources which are used to assist those in need. The government is very involved and people may not know that because they do not advertise and make the information aware of like they should. ...DOMESTIC CHANGING HEORY CHANGING PRACTICE 1. Introduction Throughout our world, violence confronts us daily. We hear about it on the news. We read about it in newspapers and on the Internet. We experience it subtly and overtly in all cultures and across nations in incidents ranging from ethnic slurs to hate crimes to violence carried out in the name of ideology. Such incidents of violence tend to be easily seen as they fall within the public domain. Less visible, however, but often more devastating, is the domestic violence that occurs within the family and often against women. The International Council of Nurses (ICN) (2001) notes in a summary of research done on four continents that as many as 20 to 50 percent of all women in the studies reported experiencing partner violence. But what are the links among domestic violence, health care profession, nurses, and ethics? In moral philosophy, there is a long tradition of debate on whether true moral dilemmas can exist, some arguing that it will always be possible to decide which obligation should prevail. On this concept regardless of the abstract possibility of an ideal resolution and the pragmatic reality that decisions are made and people have to live with them. An ethical dilemma presents a choice that must be made between two mutually exclusive courses of action, each of which is perceived to rest on a moral obligation that carries significant weight for the actor confronting the dilemma. According to Draucker...
