...How to Organize a Paintball Event Have you ever dreamed of shooting your family or friends? Perhaps you will get the chance if you offer to organize a paintball event. It is a great way to relieve stress and have fun at the same time. Even if the stepmother from hell is on the same team as you, keep in mind there is such a thing as “friendly fire” (“accidentally” shooting someone on your team). Organizing a paintball event isn’t as easy as it seems. You need to know how many people are attending, what they need to bring, and the waivers need to be signed. The first step is to check out local fields. Some things to look for are, the ratio of referees to players, goggle signs, barrel plugs and personality of the staff. Typically, playing fields are crowded on the weekend. Most fields will open during the week for a group of twenty or more, but do ask. Price is also a consideration; this is an expensive hobby. Expect to pay at least $85 for a case of paint, goggle rental and a paintball marker (gun) rental for a four-hour session. Preferably, try to plan the outing when the weather is comfortable. Playing in the 100 degree Texas heat would be rough on most corporate types. On the day of the event, it is best for everyone participating to dress in layers. Being hit with a paintball does sting. Professionals recommend wearing gloves and a hat as hand shots and headshots seem to hurt the most. Wear comfortable shoes, cleats if possible, if not tennis shoes with good tread....

...I have been asked to create a detailed evaluation of the Paintballing trip that we organised for our team building event. In this report I will be evaluating the clean-up and vacating of the event, my personal opinion on how the event went and also other the opinion of other people who participated in the event. Task 1 When we first organised the event and booked the location, we were told the times in which we must arrive and leave the premises. We had specific times to arrive and leave because a lot of locations are very busy and need to make sure they can fit in as many clients as possible throughout the day. The times that they gave us were so they could clean up and be ready for the next customers within the right amount of time. With this in mind we were able to give the coach driver that we booked an exact time of when we had to be picked up from the college and from the Delta Force. We had to book transport to the venue as the event was in Cardiff and also there were a lot of people attending this event so travelling all together on the coach made it much easier to do a register and see who was missing. After we had finished with the venue, we had to make sure that all of our rubbish was cleared and all equipment borrowed from the venue was given back to them in the condition that they were given in. It was our responsibility to clear up any rubbish by putting it in the bins provided and also to give back the overalls, guns and helmets. Although we must clean...

...It’s your club’s annual trap tournament for all its bragging glory and you’ve had a long day. There plenty of busted blue rock under your belt, but you’re bushed and all you really want to do is concentrate on that last stage. Except there’s that little gnawing voice in the back of your head nagging, “You have to clean your gun.” Sigh… no matter how you skin it — especially after a couple hundred rounds — this is just no fun. As Luke Hartle found at the 2018 SHOT Show in Las Vegas this reluctant ritual might be a thing of the past. Cleanshot from Huntego makes polishing your gun’s bore as simple as pulling the trigger and just as fast. An innovative concept, as company phrases it a pass-through cleaner, Cleanshot is fired through your...

...Paintball is a popular sport in the United States and a rather young sport. The first game of paintball was played in June of 1981. According to the Minnesota Paintball League, over ten million people play paintball every year.Furthermore, over a million people play paintball at least fifteen times annually. For those who do not know, paintball is a game of skill, strategy, and speed. In paintball, small, light, seventeen millimeter thick balls filled with paint are shot with compressed air. They fire at about 240-280 feet per second, which is 163-190 miles per hour. The paint used is water soluble in case a player gets shot in their mouth and swallows the paint. The game of paintball is really easy to learn but hard to master. In the game,...

...are found on entertainment consoles. To experience these types of games for yourself in real life, without the controller, there are two to choose from, Airsoft or Paintball, and while similar, have many key differences, such as equipment used, projectiles, and game formats. Airsoft and paintball both have very similar game formats, and type of equipment used. Paintball utilizes a weapon called a “marker” to propel a paint filled gelatin shell ball using compressed air or CO2, while an airsoft weapon, called a “replica”, uses battery power to fire a 6mm plastic BB from a very realistic looking weapon. Projectiles fired from the paintball marker are used to hit the other players and mark them with paint, and when they are hit, they are out of that current game by being called “dead”. The same goes with airsoft as well, but as there is no paint, it relies on the “honor system” or to call out when you have been hit. The team that still has players considered “alive” capture said flag, and return it to their base and call victory. Being a shooter based game, the object is to eliminate the other teams players and capture a flag placed somewhere on the field. This is repeated numerous times all day, or until everyone is tired and ready to go home. No matter how similar the games of airsoft and paintball are, there are many differences....

...Using your own detailed examples explore representations of ethnicity in the media today. There are many representations of ethnicity is the media however they all seem to be very limited if not overlooked completely. Many of these tend to be as token gestures or stereotypical to fit with the dominant ideology. To explore this further I will be primarily looking at the representation of Gypsies in My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, a TV programme produced by Jenny Popplewell shown on Channel 4. I will also comment on other representations of gypsies in the media such as those in Snatch and The Traveller Times Online. In the media, gypsies are portrayed in a negative light. Every single media product stereotypes them as dirty, tramps and thieves. We see this everywhere, in magazines, films, TV programmes and Documentaries. A good example is the article titled ‘Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves?’ it varies in different words that are linked with negativity throughout the whole article. While including examples from Snatch, the article says ‘Messages of gypsies in Snatch are deeply negative, putting us, the audience in a superior position’. This clearly shows the negativity of them in the media. Only 300,000 gypsies and travellers live in Britain. Only small part of them are in TV programmes and other forms of media therefore the representation is disproportionate to their population. Not all Irish Travellers are dirty or thieves. My Big Fat Gypsy Weddings is clearly produced purely for entertainment...

The city's motto "Wheatheart of Oklahoma" and the Native American translation of the towns name "Tonkawa" meaning "they all stay together" was the inspiration behind the design. The park contains pavers and art panels depicting local culture and history. In less than one years’ time fund in excess of $150,000.00 were raised through donations, grants, and in-kind services. The park is utilized for a variety of community activities including educational presentations to high school and college students, fundraising events, an annual Harvest Walk, Valentine's Day Walk and weddings ("Heart in the Park Labyrinth", n.d). Community projects such as this can be successful when elected officials come together with residents. Collaboration amongst various team members has proven to be an effective tool when utilized to accomplish common goals that may not have been achievable on their own (Swindell & Hilvert, 2014). When different partners come together it is important to ensure that all team players are on the same page. There are seven characteristics that can influence the success in achieving goals in a community project; assessing funds available, contract specifications...

...Three innovative ideas that would improve the area where I live are better jobs, more children after school activities, and parks. In my community there are not as many jobs that are available for many people. This has because many people to struggle with the cost of living. This is due to the low income that is being paid to employees. For example, there are several restaurants that are available in my area, which is the only jobs that will hire people with no experience. Their pay is not much but with the low income that is being paid and the high cost of living, it is not the best job to make ends meet. There are not many after school activities for children where I live today. If there was more after school activities, it will give provide more advantages of children learning, staying out of trouble, and experiencing more out of life. Parks are great to have in the community because this gives families more places that are fun for their children and provides places for many sports activities. Where I live we have 2 parks that are available and one of them is not fill with playgrounds for children and fields where many boys have the opportunity of playing baseball, basketball, and other sports that they love. The other park that we have is located in a neighborhood that is not a place for children. I would never allow or advise my children to attend this...

...Community Profile Presentation ETH/316 Introduction Factors such as the physical environment, social communication, diversity, population, technology, social inequality, and social efforts are what ultimately lead to change within communities. They can determine how stable communities are, potential growth, and accomplishments that communities have succeeded in. Each community has its own profile, and within each community all people have social roles in which they play. Roles are significant components within a community, and they contribute to stability by enabling its members to interact and build relationships on different levels throughout the community. Diversity within population amongst a community is what also helps a community to thrive and surface new ideas, which is beneficial to a community. People in a community that bring about change can be a friend, employee, student, or anyone; there is no one specific person who can build a community by his/her self; it is community efforts. This presentation will discuss the profile of a place called Sims City, and all about this little city that makes it worth living in its community. This is a diverse community of different ethnicities with different religious beliefs. There are 144 members within this community who vary from public administrators to homemakers, and they all interact and socialize amongst various locations within the Sims City community. All of these members help this community...

Then, whatever, was outside in the darkness also breathed, and the huge silence of the night seemed to come inside the camper, stifling them. It was then he decided to pack up and move to a motel. Comments on narration: • Normally chronological (though sometimes uses flashbacks) • A sequential presentation of the events that add up to a story. • A narrative differs from a mere listing of events. Narration usually contains characters, a setting, a conflict, and a resolution. Time and place and person are normally established. In this paragraph, the "story" components are: a protagonist (Hanson), a setting (the park), a goal (to camp), an obstacle (nature), a climax (his panic), and a resolution (leaving). • Specific details always help a story, but so does interpretive language. You don't just lay the words on the page; you point them in the direction of a story. • This...

...In the case of F.J. Busse vs. Department of General Services, Busse was contracted by the General State Authority to build a fountain in Point State Park. When the area was nearly excavated, Hurricane Agnes deposited 6 inches of dirt onto the site. Busse submitted a change order for $85,000, but the General State Authority only granted Busse an extension of time. The GSA said that any funds recovered from federal reimbursement would be paid to Busse, but no funds were ever recovered. The court ruled that Busse was responsible for the cost of the dirt removal from the job site under the terms of the contract. The court said that even though neither party was responsible for the loss, the party who agreed to take the loss must be responsible for it. In this case, the court decided that Busse agreed to take this loss. In the contract, the provisions are quite vague with Busse agreeing to take the loss from “any other hazard”. The court used this to say that damage from a hurricane could be included under this. The court also ruled that the damage to the job site did not make fulfilling the terms of the contract impossible, but just more expensive. In this case, it does not seem that the court deemed the cost of the cleanup to be impractical, or much more costly than anticipated. I do not agree with the findings of this court. While the contract did leave Busse liable for a multitude of possible damages, I do not believe than a severe act of God like a hurricane should be included...
