Pam and Susan’s New Store Location

Introduction Pam and Susan’s is a chain of discount department stores who currently have 250 stores, mostly located throughout the south. This chain company is looking to expand and open new stores and has two potential sites. They are looking for the most appropriate location for potential new stores based on high future earnings and sales. The purpose of the case study was to figure out and suggest a new location for the company from the two chosen sites, A and B, by finding a multiple regression model using the data from 250 stores.
Data
There were several different types of data used for this analysis. Data set that was given in a file, consisted information of 250 stores on different demographics such as economic status, store size, composition and sales of the stores. The different variables in the file were: 1. Store size: Square feet and selling sq. ft. 2. % population who are black, and Spanish speaking 3. Different competitive groups based on scale of 1-7 4. Family income (in 000’s): 0-10, 10-14, 14-20, 20-30, 30-50, 50-100, >100 5. Median yearly income 6. Median home value 7. Median rent per month 8. Population % who are homeowners 9. % population who had no cars 10. % population with 1 car 11. % population with washer 12. % population with TV 13. % population with dryer 14. % population with dishwasher 15. % population with AC 16. % population with freezer 17. Total population 18. % population who have a second home 19. Education (in years): 0-8, 9-11, 12, 12+ 20. Average family size
