Finding the First Cure for the pancreatic shutdown disease known as diabetes
Introduction
Diabetes is a disease where your body cannot produce enough insulin the body needs in order for it to function correctly. The insulin in the body of a human is produced by the pancreas. Without the full work of the pancreas in a human body, there is no insulin, which causes type 1 diabetes. Around 3 million people die from diabetes each year. It has been proven that insulin will temporarily control diabetes, but it is not a permanent fix. This is why I hope my idea of a prescription drug to take once a day causing the pancreas to be healthier can prevent diabetes before it even happens. There is also the long lost hope of the bionical pancreas if the pancreas were to shut down even if the drug worked in most cases. Solving diabetes is a tough thing to do, without a fulltime working pancreas you will always be a little too sweet, but with this new drug idea I have come up with and the bionical pancreas idea, hopefully one will work. Then all the diabetics out there, including me will be able to live a normal everyday
