Red Panda Research Paper

...Red pandas can be easily identified by their unique ruddy coat color, which acts like camouflage within the canopy of fir trees where branches are covered with clumps of reddish-brown moss and white lichens. They have large, round heads and short snouts with big, pointed ears. Their faces are white with reddish-brown “tear” marks that extend from the eyes to the corner of the mouth. These markings could have evolved to help keep the sun out of their eyes. Their tails are marked with alternating red and buff rings. Red pandas have a soft, dense woolly undercoat covered by long, coarse guard hairs. Long, bushy tails help these arboreal animals maintain balance and protect them from harsh cold and winds. Dense fur completely covers their feet which have five, widely separated toes and semi-retractable claws....

...April 28, 2008 Research Paper Grade Draft Fading of Black and White In the meadows high in the mountains of central China, various types of animals share the peaceful green jungles filled with endless trees, wild flowers, rivers, and rain fall. Among all the different species of animals that share the jungle, one in particular stands out: the giant panda. The pandas live a peaceful and harmless life high in the remote mountainous regions of central China. The bamboo forests grow high, and are cool and wet—just the way the pandas prefer them to be. Pandas will climb upwards to 13,000 feet (3,962 meters) to feed on the bamboo that grows in their habitat; during the summer seasons, they will venture even higher. Pandas mainly feed on bamboo, but will eat birds or rodents as well. It is in this peaceful bamboo jungle habitat that the giant panda gives birth to and nurtures its young. The Giant Panda is one of the rarest and most exotic animals this world has given birth to. Pandas are mammals; they’re omnivores. The average lifespan in the wild for a healthy Panda is twenty years. The sizes they grow to are four to five feet (one to one and a half meters) tall and weigh upwards to 300 pounds (136 kilograms). In the past few decades the Chinese Giant Pandas have been added to the endangered species list because of their decreasing numbers. The Pandas made the list due to false pregnancies, poachers, poor nurturing, and lack of bamboo growth. First, pandas are slowly...

Is There Ethical Treatment for Animals in Captivity?

...Is there ethical treatment for animals in captivity? The term “ethical” implies the moral basis of treatment towards animals while “captivity” denotes confinement or lack of freedom. The unmistakable contrast in these two words itself creates the argument whether ethical treatment is possible for animals in captivity. Humans had often been overly considerate about moral principles while dealing with its own kind. Whenever ethics were encroached upon, man stood up against it, questioned it and regained it. But unfortunately, lacking advanced communication like humans, animals are unable to. Human intervention in wildlife has bereaved animals of total control over their own lives. Man may reason out his intrusion, yet, the animals in captivity, being deprived of their natural habitats and having bred in man-made enclosures for generations, tend to misperceive their animality. It is indispensable to have an insight into what causes the bereavement of animals and how it is caused, before looking into its moral principles. Among the contrastive places that I came across in which animal captivity is proceeded, wildlife preservation zoos are the most popular, and least considered as a confinement of animal freedom. Thousands of people visit zoos daily but rarely give a thought to the miserable lives that animals have to spend stagnating and sleeping, due to the less spacious and artificial residences provided. Some present enclosures in zoos have been changed to natural barriers...

E-Procurement

...3 Information and e-procurement infrastructure 17 5 Case Study 18 6 Future Outlook/ Conclusion 19 List of References II Introduction During the last decade and especially in the last couple of years, the internet has finally found its position in business operations. While the use of internet has been rather the exception than the norm, it is now becoming more and more common to streamline processes and eliminate wasteful processes through the use of the internet. This can especially be seen in the purchasing operations of many firms nowadays, as many companies see the importance of efficient procurement and change from slow and often expensive, paper-based orders to e-procurement. It seems as though this style of procurement can be of great advantage to every firm, but there are also drawbacks. The main task of this paper is to give an overview over the necessary mechanisms that need to be in place for e-procurement in order to equip readers with a thorough understanding of the topic – in this way they will be able to form an objective opinion and thus build a basis for further in-depth investigations of the different topics of e-procurement. In order to bring across the main parts of...

Product Placement

...Journal of Management and Marketing Research Product placement effectiveness: revisited and renewed Kaylene Williams California State University, Stanislaus Alfred Petrosky California State University, Stanislaus Edward Hernandez California State University, Stanislaus Robert Page, Jr. Southern Connecticut State University ABSTRACT Product placement is the purposeful incorporation of commercial content into noncommercial settings, that is, a product plug generated via the fusion of advertising and entertainment. To reach retreating audiences, advertisers use product placements increasingly in clever, effective ways that do not cost too much. The purpose of this paper is to examine product placement in terms of definition, use, purposes of product placement, specific media vehicles, variables that impact the effectiveness of product placement, the downside of using product placement, and the ethics of product placement. Genetically Vigurous Population

...within any population is exceptionally important to the sustainability of any ecosystem or environment. The cycle of life shows us that all species have another species that they rely on for several necessities. Some species use other species for sustenance, some for shelter, or hunting skills. The reasons why species rely on each other vary; however, the need is infinitely important. We will discuss why genetic diversity is so important. We will explain why population management and diversity is necessary to the successful survival of every population. Lastly, we will compare and contrast the ex situ and in situ methods of conservation. It is extremely important for humanity to take responsibility for the failings of some ecosystems and this paper allows us to see the ways that we, as humanity, can help to reverse that damage. Genetic Diversity in Populations Genetic diversity also known as the level of biodiversity simply measures the number of genetic characteristics that the genetic makeup of a particular species consists of. It is different from the term genetic variability as they are many times used alternatively but in reality they are different. So why is genetic diversity so important? It is the basis for the populations of various living species to adapt themselves as the surrounding environment changes. If there is no genetic diversity many of the species will vanish off the face of earth. The environment on the earth changes rapidly and hence with the help of genetic...

Adolescent Struggle

...social studies. Education is the world, but are we living in it correctly? Does every individual have the knowledge? Are we all smart? This world must be clever. Now I have a simple suggestion in order to fix such a problem, let’s get rid of all of the technologee. Wouldn’t you say life would be easier when we didn’t have a device to distract. Technologee is a variable than should be removed. Papers, papers, papers, shall be everywhere. Only paper and pen for assignments for the adolescence to increase their knowledge. No laptops, why research online when there are books. I once knew a man, who had the brain of a panda. He was such a technologeee young fella, always up to date with the new equipment. He knew so much but so little. Never had he ever received an A on a test in elementary. He was ridiculed by so many. He then decided to throw away all the technologee and wrote a paper. That paper helped him so so much. Such knowledge was produced out his mind. That young fella is the set example of why paper over rules technologee. Now let’s cut the trees and make these papers. Papers with so many assignments for the children shall solve this low education. 2nd graders given 5th grade work and so on, so the world will be shrewd. Doesn’t that sound intriguing, a smart world. And lets make the education free, no payments. This concept will elevate the youth onto the highest pedestal as of Zeus in Olympia, Washington up north of this nation.
