A Distributed Transaction Model for a Multidatabase Management System
Omar Baakeel and Abdulaziz Alrashidi Abstract— This paper examines the distributed transaction issues that are present in multi-database management systems (DBMSs) and how the distributed transaction in database technology differs from other distributed processing systems. Some common issues that arise with the distribution of transactions over a multi-DBMS while dealing with concurrency control and recovery are highlighted, such as site failure, network failure, and time failure. This study proposes an exceptional distributed transaction model for processing transaction queries in multi-DBMS based on the idea that a complete database can be constructed at any stage.
Index Terms— Database management system (DBMS), distributed transaction, transaction management, transaction network

1 INTRODUCTION
ENERALLY, a distributed transaction is defined as a transaction that updates data on two or more networked computer systems. Different conceptual structures for processing transaction elements are required to meet certain needs of applications that must update distributed data in terms of peer to peer connection. Developing a transaction model is difficult because most of these techniques are customized for a single transaction point, and many types of failures, such as client failure, server failure, and network connection failure, can occur. Furthermore, connecting different distributed points requires the presence of advanced network security technology to detect and recover from network connection failure [1]. Recently developed transaction applications have optimized various security integrations so as to secure the transaction between client and server by detecting and

Academic knowing is needed to be backed up by practical experience. In business studies, besides their usual theoretical course works, students are required to fulfill some practical assignments which are set by the course teachers to examine the depth of knowledge learned by the students. Most of the time, the students are required to study a practical working environment of any organization or industry to critically examine ‘what is actually going on’ in the real world.    This document is prepared as a result of an assignment set by the honorable course teacher of the course “Fundamental of MIS”. .My duty was to describe “Information System of My Organization.” and report what I found. This is how this assignment paper titled “Information System of Standard Bank Limited.” was emerged. I believe this paper is a reflection of accumulation of my effort, learning and dedication. Database Design Paper

...Database Design Paper DBM380 March 09, 2015 Database Design Paper A database is a computer structure that organizes a collection of data so that it can be accessed, updated and managed as fast and efficiently as possible. There are several classifications of databases, “For example, databases can be classified by the number of users supported, where the data are located, the type of data stored, the intended data usage, and the degree to which the data are structured. The number of users determines whether the database is classified as single-user or multiuser. A single-user database supports only one user at a time. In other words, if user A is using the database, users B and C must wait until user A is done. A single-user database that runs on a personal computer is called a desktop database. In contrast, a multiuser database supports multiple users at the same time. When the multiuser database supports a relatively small number of users (usually fewer than 50) or a specific department within an organization, it is called a workgroup database. When the database is used by the entire organization and supports many users (more than 50, usually hundreds) across many departments, the database is known as an enterprise database” (Coronel, Morris, & Rob, 2013, p. 9). Database architecture describes the rules that dictate how data is stored in a database and how data is accessed by components of a system. Database management software, such as Oracle, is designed to handle...

...Phoenix Data Systems Learning Team Paper Team A: HCI 520 Data Management and Design January 16, 2012 Introduction This paper will address data systems; a database is an organized group of files that are related. It is maintained and considered an integral part of most organizations worldwide. In Data Base Management, programs enable you to store, modify, and extract information from a database. In this paper team A will address database types, demonstrate a conceptual representation for a database system. We focused on relational data model to explain how DBMS organizes information in different formats and design models. Implementation of a Database System The purpose of the implementation phase is to make the new system available to a prepared set of users. In this phase the construction and installation of the new database system is initiated according to the plan and design that represents all aspects of the organization, including its interactions with the external environment, this requires matching the design requirements with the best available implementing tools and then using those tools for the implementation. There are several basic steps to implementation of a database system. Determine the need, for developing a new system; identifying user needs; developing the contextual and external and internal level schemas; translation of the internal level schema into the actual databases structures that...
