Indicative Assessment Requirements for the Module;-

The internet has contributed significantly to the transformation of modern business. It has provided enormous opportunities to organizations in their quest to gain competitive advantage. However it also presents organizations with several challenges. The internet therefore seems to be a ‘double edged sword’. Whilst some technology commentators believe that it has redefined the way of doing business accompanied with tremendous benefits, others are of the view that it has caused more harm than good.
Required:
(a) Select any two of the following sectors and examine any five (5) significant contributions of the internet to the sector you have selected. Below are the sectors:
i. Aviation Sector; ii. Retail Sector; iii. Banking Sector; iv. The Health Sector;
v. Education Sector; vi. Transportation Sector.
(b) Discuss any five (5) major challenges facing each of the sectors you have selected and what measures are being taken to address these problems.
Maximum Word Limit and Assessment weighting for each aspect within the assessment:
Word Limit-2500-3000
Format- The written assignment should be presented in the format of a report.
Marking Scheme:
Introduction - 5%
Review of internet growth statistics - 15%
Discussion of factors for two sectors - 40%
Discussion of challenges for the two sectors - 30%
Referencing [Harvard style] - 10%

Description of Assessment Requirements
Guidelines:
1. All assignments must be word processed – handwritten assignments will attract an automatic FAIL grade.
2. The coursework must be presented in form of a report, NOT an essay.
3. All research must be referenced and a bibliography attached. Improper or lack of either of these constitutes plagiarism and students will be awarded a Zero.
4. Students found copying from other students will also be charged with collusion and awarded a Zero.
5. The application of theory to practise will be given good marks.
6. The use of diagrams to illustrate models is accepted. These must be referenced.
7. A table of content is required for this assignment [automatic table of content]
8. The line spacing is 1.5 and font size is 12 whilst headings should suit the format of the format of the table of content.

2. Understand the impact the internet has made on various sectors;
3. Identify the major problems associated with the use of the internet;
4. Recommend appropriate measures to deal with problems associated with the use of the internet.
